    Winter Wonderland experience!❄️
I'm not sure how many people have considered visiting Theth when going to Albania. If you aren't visiting Theth, it's the biggest miss! It's a magical place. Snowshoeing through the picturesque trails provides a unique perspective of the surrounding beauty. The local cuisine, especially warm, hearty stews and freshly baked bread, is a delightful way to warm up after a day of outdoor adventures. ⚠️ It's worth noting that during winter, the roads can be challenging to navigate, so be sure to check weather and road conditions before planning your trip.

Overdevelopment will ruin this idyllic place
We spent three days here basing ourselves just outside Theth village. The area is beautiful, stunning views of the Albanian Alps and gushing rivers abound. As well as viewing the church and lock in tower in Theth village we did a couple of excellent hikes to The Blue Eye, Grunasi waterfall and Canyon of Grunas which is spectacular. We travelled from Shkodra and whilst the road over the mountains is now fully paved until you reach Theth, it is not designed to cope with the likely rapid increase in traffic the area will see in the next few years. The amount of new development is notable. In Theth village, what was once a sleepy farming village now sees new property being built everywhere. Already the road is busy and many sections of the mountain pass are barely wide enough for two vehicles. Many drive too fast and great care is needed. Increasing levels of accommodation which could increase five-fold in the next twelve months will worsen this problem. Theth has little in the way of tourist infrastructure. There is one mini market selling mainly snacks and alcohol to cater for the large student population that camps here. At the time of our visit, the local Tourist information centre was shut For the hikes we would recommend taking some mapping with you. We used open street maps which showed all the paths we used on our hikes. Signage on hikes for the most part is seriously lacking. Nevertheless, it is a spectacular part of the country but go before it gets too busy.

    Wonderful
Wonderful unspoilt place, definitely worth a visit before the crowds come along. Beautiful walks to blue eye waterfall, Grunasi waterfall and the big one to Valbona peak. Definitely try and shop before you get here as there is one small shop with high prices. If you’re driving then try and stop well before theth, shkoder has some good supermarkets. Food is also limited, most stay in there guesthouse to eat but we ventured out. Really enjoyed shpella guesthouse for food, places are small so get full quickly so either book or get there early for a table.

I had some wonderful days hiking both in Theth and Valbona Valleys. Beautiful landscape, amazing mountains and woods - and the unforgetable nights filled with fireflies. And I mean filled... after sunset this most beautiful show would start, everywhere you looked you had dozens of small lights afloat in the air. The food was also great, some of the best yogurt and vegetables I ever had, and the people really nice.

I have spent 2days in Theth National Park all around Albanian Alpes. There are easy and difficult too many trekking and hiking routes you choose depend of you condition but all are very impressive. Very beautiful and untouched nature. Most of the area there is no internet connection and your mobile devices are not working which is great you can feel all the mountains and nature

My wife, my kids and I had an unforgettable experience in Theth with a an amazing experienced guide (Edjon Maliqi).

That place is a hidden gem. A must seen spot that will make you speechless.

Again I would like to highlight that the tour guide is a key player in this trip and we were lucky to have such a tour leader with great experience in this field.

Folks, the road to Theth is just a paved (but definitely drivable) one-lane road but there are far worse things in this "National Park" - like the heaps of trash that are hidden between trees and bushes. We saw broken toilets (!) thrown into the forest, not even speaking about all the tins and cans and plastic. The only "supermarket" basically has potato chips, alcohol and cookies. No idea what people eat here, honestly. The scenerey was beautiful. The mountains were towering and the Blue Eye (not completely trahsed yet) is well worth a visit. Also Gruna Waterfall was beautiful. One can only hope that the term "National Park" will once be taken serious and all the trash removed to truly protect nature and not just pretending to.

I had amazing time in Theti even due to the rainy weather we had to terminate our hike to Qafa Valbones. But this is the busiest hike. The next day we hiked to Pejes around 7-8 hours return 950 m up and down. Excellent hike with beautiful views of the valley and at the top with lakes. Trek easy navigate if you follow the red/white signs. Tip for easy trek: within 20 min from Theth you can reach Grunas waterfall. In Theth you find all you need for the stay, accommodation, restaurants, shops, church. But this spending place starts to received many tourist so untouched nature can be soon be gone.

A great place between the mountains of Albanian alps. The place is clear and virgin. Not very crowded which makes the hiking trips very enjoyable. The views of the mountains, the trees and rivers are so nice. Highly recommended to spend a night or two in this place especially of you enjoy hiking. The main 2 hikes are the blue eye and the waterfall

The road to Theth was perfect and new but long and high. Beautiful scenery through out the road. 16 kilometers up and 16 kilometers down to the valley.

There is still lot under construction in the valley, but services such as restaurant and guesthouses plenty enough.

We went for a day trip. Take enough water with you on a hot day and walk the valley or go for a longer hike.

The best part for us was the tower of blood feud, the Kulla- visit. It costs 150lek. We got to climb the tower and stay to the carpet and listen the story of the family’s past.

Just remember to have fuel tank full enough on your way. No gas station at the end of the road, but if such thing would happen that you arrive with empty tank, a kind person might sell you some.
