The Nepean dam is the tallest of the 4 dams on the river system (Cataract, Cordeaux and Avon dams). It has a particularly grand entrance with shallow steps. Apart from the height it is not a particularly impressive dam with bland structures around. There is...More

We visited Nepean Dam after Avon dam. Nepean isn't as pretty but is very interesting. It also has great picnic facilities (including gas fired barbecues). The dam wall has wide lips that partially obscure the view but it also has great lookout locations. The spillway...More

This is likely the busiest of the Upper Nepean dams, especially with the water HQ there, however the picnic areas are some of the best, with some having lake views. This dam is the tallest, with dramatic entrances and parts of the downstream wall covered...More

Great little park with well maintained play equipment and facilities. We often just drop in for a quick visit.

Like Avon Dam- a great place to visit all year round to see the role we play locally in the collection of water!

Yesterday, we went to Nepean Dam but didn't find it any attractive place for family picnic. The only good thing was to watch some cute kangaroos at the side of the road.

Gorgeous views and plenty of space to picnic, go for walks etc. At the dam wall there is a short concrete path that leads to a dead end, along the way there are views of the lake and a big sandstone rock face, perfect for...More

Have recently visited lots of dams, the Woronora, Cataract, Cordeaux, Avon and now the Nepean and it's hard to imagine that each of them were built with different architectural themes. I liked this dam....great photo opportunities, nice spot for a picnic. Grounds well kept. A...More

Visited the Nepean Dam on another one of our country drives. This 1930s Art Deco style dam is much much smaller and not as pretty as the Cordeaux or Cataract Dams. There are nice water views from the dam wall and the spillway construction is...More
