Not as big as nearby Nepean Dam but worth visiting both. Avon gets fewer visitors and has quiet picnic areas - the upper one has the usual facilities and glimpses of the lake, the main lower one may be getting reconstructed but there could be...More

We travelled with a group of motorcyclists and visited Cordeaux Dam prior to visiting the Avon Dam. The ride into the dam seemed to go forever but the great thing is that you can ride or drive right to the wall and park so close....More

We stopped here for a look, there is a lot of information about the construction of the dam attached to the wall. There are numerous picnic spots available to relax in and enjoy the area.
