Drama is what this part of Spain offers. Drama in the spectacular drop below our hotel room and those dark angular mountains and the fabulous vista entering the town. It's literally built on a ridge of the sierra with a gorge spanned by a eye-catching bridge. The moorish influence is superb. I could stroll here forever.

La Ciudad of Ronda is a charmant town with a romantic veil, to stroll in old town is enjoys life, it's lively; the shopsowner love her sale, her products, with a warm gesture they wawe or stroked over a jacket, to estimate her product and also her client; it's something that I observed only in Ciudad Ronda.

The new town is crowded and full of tourist tat and fast food. Stay in the old town and enjoy a completely different ambience. Quiet streets, small squares and individualistic small hotels and guest houses. The countryside comes right up to the town walls and you can walk in the fields and olive groves.

Any visitor to the enchanting pueblos blancos or white villages would include Ronda and in Ronda walk through the quaint, meandering narrow streets of the old town of La Ciudad, steeped in culture and uniqueness.

We stopped off in Ronda while en route to Seville from Granada. The roads and scenery are spectacular. Driving in Ronda is a challenge and we parked immediately in an underground garage. The town is small and easy to stroll. Don't miss the different viewpoints, the old Bullfight ring/ museum, and a stroll through the old Moorish section. We spent... More
