It may be tempting to just visit Machu Picchu and skip all that is in between Cusco and Aguas Calientes, but that would be a huge mistake. Missing the gems of Pisac and Ollantaytambo would mean missing two incredible Incan ruins and scenically quaint towns. There are many other important sites both historically and photogenically as well. Make sure you... More

Our group of four had a great time visiting the terraces of Pisac, the salt pools of Maras, the village of Chincero, the ruins of Moray and Ollantaytambo just prior to boarding the train for Machu Picchu. We took an amazing guide, Oscar, who was so kind and knowledgeable. He picked us up from the Cusco airport right on time... More

When you're at Cusco, don't hesitate to ask in every tour operator you find until you get the best price. It's worth it as an introduction to what are you going to find in Machu Picchu. Maras and Moray must be included within the tour. I'd recommend a one-day-tour if you're short of time, it's enough time to have a... More

Definitely worth a trip, there is so much to see and explore in this valley! Unfortunately the tours you can book are a little dense so you don't have a lot of time at the sites or the markets. So if you have enough time, do individual trips to the separate sites on several days, you can enjoy it a... More

Visiting the Sacred Valley of the Incas is a must for anyone who is in Cusco, Peru and hasn't visited the sites before. There are a few tour operators available for this, that have different courses and options that operate at different times. I would suggest going to at least two to get a feel for prices and options available.... More

Wonderful Incan ruins, beautiful mountain scenery, lots of local activity in small villages along the way. Well worth the effort if you're visiting this area. I can't find a TripAdvisor page for the terraces at Ollantaytambo, but they are amazing and not to be missed if you are in the area. Lots of climbing, but really neat.

A must do Valley and sites. This is by far one of the prettiest places in all of Peru. Plenty of pre Inca and Inca sites to explore with beautiful terraces among the mountains. Perfect for pictures.

The scared valley was an amazing trip that was well worth the money depending on what tour company you go with! I went to several different places with this tour company in one day since the scared valley would have only been a few hours long. Beautiful view and amazing history for sure!
