For "water engineering geeks" this is a kid of mecca -- possibly the finest example of pre-Columbian water engineering in South America. At first glance not so impressive perhaps, once you get your eye in you see that this Inca site is not just a...More

We visited this place on the last day of our Cusco stay, after 4 days of hiking. The serenity of the site was amazing, but to be honest, I found the site to be average compared to the other Inca ruins visited. If you are...More

This site displays how efficient the early civilizations of Peru were with their water. If only we would learn from what they knew so long ago. Very interesting site.

I suffered a great deal of altitude sickness while in Cusco so the amount of walking that is required to see Tipon was very difficult for me. Every few steps my heart felt like it ran a mile straight without breaks. I am not overweight...More

We spent 3 hours hiking, taking pictures and just wandering around. The views of the surrounding mountains and the green valleys were breath taking. One of the top 5 things we did on great 2 week vacation to Peru.

This hike is mild to moderate in intensity but worth the effort. Take sips of water during the hike. You will ascend through various terraces until you reach the top as you view several cascading waterfalls from the mountain and how it was channeled into...More

We booked a taxi from our hotel, and he waited for us. It was 99 soles for the day, and he took us to another site as well. Super easy and a great way to get there.
