Parked at the car park on Morrison rd in Swanview, 5 of us walked along a wide gravel track partly through a disused railway tunnel, lots of mountain bikers, interesting signs along the track, great views, around 2 hours leisurely return walk to the other side.

We headed off to JFNP for a bush walk. We took ourselves off the beaten tracks and wandered through beautiful scrub land, pools of water, up and down hills and were treated with wonderful views whenever we reached a peak. A simply wonderful place to visit, either for bush walking, picnicking, taking in a view of the city or just... More

Walked into the park from Parkiville along a well made dirt road. No real hills so it is a easy 35 minute walk. We did visit the on site restaurant and were more than happy with the standard of the food and price of beer and wine. If you have visitors and want to see Kangaroos this is the place... More

This park is just great! And it offers everything a park should offer. The entry fee is 12$ per car. Nice barbecue in the schade, Picknick or relaxing. Cold drinks and food in the tavern. With a lot of wildlife direct around. Then you can take a beautiful walk through the bush. We missed the wildflower time or the the... More

John Forrest National Park is great anytime but spring is when the wildflowers are out in their splendour and the smell are refreshing .Also when there is a good flow in the creek the water falls a special .The walking tracks are marked and well worth it .The rock formations are amazing and its a photographers paradise . A walk... More

We live about 4km from the park but it's a bit far to walk there, walk around and then walk home so we drove up and paid for a yearly local pass. $22 covers Avon, John Forrest and Walyunga national parks for local residents. Now we can drive up there and go for walks at the back end of the... More

Entry fee at station, put your money in an envelope and place it in a box. Tried the eagle view walk - sign in at the ranger station before leaving. Tried it clockwise but it seems all the signages were much more catered for the anti-clockwise walker. Had some issue finding the trail from the car park. Otherwise nice walk... More

It was ok here nothing to rave about not a lot to see or do! No waterfalls all water had dried up! Best thing about it was the friendly Roos at the tavern but otherwise waste of a journey!

After a whole week of rain, we decided to spend a day there trying to catch the waterfall. But much to our disappointment, there wasn't much waterfall but we just enjoyed the beautiful day out bushwalking and discovering. There's lots of car park available, toilet facilities are maintained and a small kiosk. Nice place for group gatherings either for a... More

John Forrest is a great place to get away from it all but still close enough so not to be stuck in a car for hours. Entry is priced per vehicle and annual membership is a bargain. There are a number of walk trails, barbecue and picnic benches. There is a pub that sells drinks and snacks. It also does... More
