One of the biggest waterfalls in the area. Two ways of getting to the falls, one being a longer deeper walk and the other a not so deep walk. Took the easy way to the top level, but struggled to make my way up. Interesting...More
Cascada Pecughe review
Let’s be realistic, Cascada Peguche is a garbage dump. The river is absolutely dead, nothing lives in its waters and careless littering despoils the acres of rambling and otherwise inspiring grounds.
While this is without doubt an exceptional geological phenomenon, yearning to...More
Beautiful park with a lovely waterfall. An area dear to the local people of Otavalo and the areas around. The entrance takes you pass some turist shops and food stalls. The nicest part for me was all the local people enjoying a Sunday outing.
I think that Peguche Waterfall is a place full of nature because it has forests and a beautiful waterfall, ideal to share between friends and family, in this place you can enjoy the typical dishes of the area and beautiful handicrafts.
In my opinion the cascade of Peguche is a very nice place because you can observe the nature that preserves a beautiful green color that provides nature the same that doesn´t have much influence by the hand of man its waterfalls, have crystal and sweet...More
We didn't find the official entrance to these falls but still managed to gain entry via a small village, after a lady came out to greet us and gave us directions. We followed a woodland track along the river that leads up to the falls....More
Not a have-to unless you have never seen a big waterfall. A man was selling some food near the base, and you could have your picture taken on 2 llama-like critters if you wanted. Nice easy walk there, small market nearby.
This is a well-maintained park, good for strolling, with a picturesque waterfall at the end. It is not a hike. We enjoyed the walk, the local flavor, and we took some pictures at the falls. There were some shops and I think a restaurant near...More
On tour in the neighbourhood of Otavalo we visited this waterfall after an easy walk. The area is quiet and green, a short walk through an easy trail brings you right in front of the fall. Worth a visit when in this area.
You could get a taxi, it would probably cost you $5.00. Walking is far an the bus would leave you in the road where you would still need to walk. Either way, the route is from the market towards the Panamericana road via... More
You could get a taxi, it would probably cost you $5.00. Walking is far an the bus would leave you in the road where you would still need to walk. Either way, the route is from the market towards the Panamericana road via Ibarra (North), you pass the circle and then two blocks to the right and then straight until you teach the railroad, then make a left until you find the parking space for the Peguche waterfall, by car about 8 minutes, by foot maybe 45 minutes. There is no entrance fee but the community will ask you for a dontation. There are crafts for sale too. Enjoy
