I've been to desert camps near Dubai UAE and Tozeur Tunisia, this one tops it all
beautiful sand dunes with lots of camp sites around for an overnight stay to catch both sunset and sunrise. a MUST do!

It was an amazing experience! The place is gorgeous, the camel ride at the sunset was magnificent! I really enjoyed the camp also. Beautiful setup, delicious food, and so may stars in the sky at night! I would highly recommend the tour!

The desert was one of the major highlights of and inspirations for our March 2022 trip to Morocco. Our tour company, Morocco Key Travel, set up the camel ride with Hamad and had our luxury camp accommodations waiting after the ride. We left the rocky start of the desert at mid-day and arrived at the camp just before full sunset. The desert was gloriously calm and quiet, just stunning. And I'm a rivers gal!

Our guide had the perfect place to stop for photos and was a great sport. He hobbled our camels when he took group photos of us, and the lead camel led the others away to chew at grass.

We got to keep the blue scarves given to us and had help tying them before getting on the camels. The camel kneels down, you climb onboard, and hold on as it stands up again. It's a lot higher than a horse, but the gait is similar, but no direction is needed from the rider. Just rock along and enjoy.

At our campsite, we got to do some sandsurfing on a shorter dune. So cool!

The Erg Chebbi dunes are fantastic and were the highlights of our trip in Morocco. The dunes were so authentic and it felt like you were walking (or the dromedary) in the most beautiful picture. The dunes are so special with the dromedaries and the fantastic colors, great camps, beautiful sand and great animals. This is an absolute must-do whenever in Morocco.

Stayed one night in a desert camp .No idea which one as it was part of a small group tour from UK.
Selfishly, happy that tourism really low ebb following lockdowns ,there were no other tent camps occupied so at night it was total silence under the dome of the starry night sky.
The camels were well behaved on the way there and I wish I had opted to ride them back rather than use petrol in a 4 x 4 .
The camp staff cooked super tagine.Beds were comfortable, toilet tent clean and functioned reasonably well.
Cannot wait to go back again sometime soon.

Watching the sunset from Erg Chebbi dunes is an amazing experience. However, though it was the prettiest place We saw on our desert tour. We would highly recommend Erg Chebbi for its pristineness and off the beat path. Star gazing in the warm spring evening was out of this world. it was fabulous!

The Eeg chebbi dunes is a Sahara desert in south of Morocco. The dunes are fantastic. In fact, this part is the most beautiful in Merzouga.

Erg Chebbi is just the desert in Morocco but many people believe it is Sahara. It is wrong, however, that the Sahara begins first in Algeria or in Western Sahara.
In any case, the dunes Erg Chebbi are fantastic, they play with many different colors from red to white, gray etc, depending on the light and the weather. If it is sunny the color is red but if it is thunderstorm for example or approaching rain the color changes to white or gray.
Sand dunes are high up to 150 m in some places, wide 5-10 km and long 25-30 km.
Today there are no camps in sand dunes and I think it works well so that people do not destroy the environment. But you can take a camel ride around there and enjoy the trip or you can just walk on foot. It's fun even though it's harder to walk in the sand.

Erg Chebbi Dunes are in Merzouga Desert, in Morocco. In fact, this part is the most beautiful in the Merzouga Desert due to here you can see the real desert with sand and dunes. We came here with my 4 years old daughter and we did a 1h 30min walk on a camel. It was a wonderful experience for my 4 years daughter (and also for me). In this time we enjoy a lot with the walk, the sunset (fantastic!), the wonderful views of desert and the natural border with Argelia and obviously taking a lot of photos. Really one of the top moments in the travel. Also, we walk until our haima in the desert and we stay alone during all walk, so it was very quite and magic (we seem the 3 Wisemen!) ;-)

Erg Chebbi Dunes is where the rock and stone desert that covers most of Morocco gives way to the sandy dunes that we normally associate with the Sahara. In the north of the country the rocky land is white in color while in the south, it is black. However, the sand dunes are the color that you would normally associate with desert sand. it ebbs and flows and shifts with the wind that paints the surface with ripples like wind driven water near the shore. It is this beautiful work of nature that one must behold.
