We visited on a swelteringly hot day so took our swimming gear. It was a fairly easy walk but in some sections you do have to climb up and down rocks. Wear good footwear then change into flip flops at the end would be my suggestion then you can walk through the water and go further into the gorge. It... More

When you're ready to see what else Mudgee has to offer other than wine take the 35min drive to the Drip Gorge. It's a very easy walk, the path is a little uneven in places so you need appropriate shoes, but you get to see lovely sandstone formations. Take a small towel so when you reach the main part of the... We took the 30 minute drive north of Mudgee, early on a cooler weekday morning and had the place to ourselves ( apart from the million or so deafening cicadas high in the trees ). The walk from the car park is relatively easy, but narrow and uneven in some parts. It took us ( fairly fit 50 somethings )... More

The walk is around 1.5kms each way and isn’t too hard although the path is a little uneven so care and attention needs to be kept on your feet as you look at the amazing sandstone cliffs around you. At the end of your walk, you are rewarded with the clear waters of the Goulburn river. We should have put... More

Classic Aussie bush walk, the river crystal clear, tranquil bush and awesome rock formations and vegetation . We didn't see fauna but enjoyed the vistas immensely . Read the legend of Brett Whitely's adventures here. Worth the 50km drive from Mudgee , go early when it's quiet and cool.

This is a great walk. A relatively easy walk - the track is well marked so no chance of taking a wrong turn and certainly worthwhile. A picnic area to have lunch or morning tea at the end of your walk.

Great experience to walk the track alongside the river. Very reminiscent of 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' when you first enter the track but no ghosts on this walk.

Well worth the walk in. The scenery is brilliant. Bring your camera, good shoes and water. The sandstone is just amazing and the water is clear and lovely to swim in.

It is worth the drive up to the Goulburn River to walk the track alongside the River. There is an abundant variety of native flora and the cliffs are spectacular! It is about 1.5 kms each way, but it is a level, easy walk most of the way. The River meanders over sand and gravel and is attractive for paddling... More
