An easy 30 minute drive from Mudgee but when reach Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve signs be alert for Castle Rocks Walking Track carpark, on your right, as poorly signposted. There are no facilities at trail head. The 4.25km walk to Castle Rocks is along a...More

Unique sandstone formations at the top of this walk with views to surrounding country. The walk to the castle rocks is along a fire trail so not interesting for views but the abundant bird life of the reserve makes up for lack of views along...More

Munghorn reserve was sold to us as a bird lovers paradise, but it looks like they flew north for the winter. The 4km walk to the rock was a little dull, but the view once there was fabulous!

an easy, level walk that ends at Castle Rocks which are pretty amazing. The walk there and back is not particularly interesting but leisurely and a wide, well marked track. It took us about 2 hours in total including time climbing Castle Rocks and taking...More
