Cuenca Cathedral is not the cathedral, here it is described San Pedro Church, one of the first churches in the city. It is located in the highest point of old town of Cuenca, a city in Castilla-la-Mancha Region. It is an octagonal church, with a circular main nave, where you can see the altar. The best part is the possibility to go up to the bell tower and see nice views of the town and surroundings.

The church of San Pedro is located in the highest part of Cuenca. Built on an old Arab mosque in the time of Alfonso VIII (S. XIII), it must have been built with three naves and a tower at the foot, being modified in later centuries.
In the 15th century, the church played an important role in the struggles between D. Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, Marquês de Cañete, and Dom Lope de Barrientos.
In the 16th century, the construction of the Chapel of S. Marcos is believed to have been completed in the year 1604.
In the 17th century, in the year 1660, the tower was rebuilt due to its poor state of conservation.
In the 18th century, the church was completely renovated.
Three different styles can be seen today: Romanesque traces remain on the side facades; the aljimez is gothic. During your visit you are also able to go up the tower for this you need about 80 steps and it is very narrow too.
But lovely location to be visited.

It’s a delightful Church with elaborately attractive stonework.

Dating from the 1700s the current iteration follows substantial modifications over the previous centuries, when it was first constructed on the remains of a mosque. It was again restored after suffering major damage during the Civil War.

Inside is lovely. Ornamentation is attractive as is the fine statuary. This includes some dramatic works such as figures with raised and threatening swords. Another shows Christ’s Baptism.

You have to continue the climb uphill to the left of the cathedral to reach this unusual church. Originally Romanesque in architecture, it is now a Baroque church. It has a circular interior. The best part is the climb of the bell tower to see out over the roofs of Cuenca. There is a two euro admission charge.

I liked this small circular church. The Mudejar ceiling in the back chapel is very nice and be sure to climb the bell tower for some great views of the city

The church is located next to Plaza del Trabuco. It has a nice dome and bell tower. The inside is rather plain.

The church is better from the outside than inside where it is fairly plain and with a few statues. There is a bell tower to climb up but we didn't bother as there are many natural vantage points of Cuenca from where there are marvelous views over the city.

It’s only worth going to this church if you walk up the bell tower, there are several dozen spiraling iron steps and when you reach the top you have beautiful views and very special photo ops with the bells

Small church, one interesting chapel, a few paintings, but not a lot to see. Not worth stepping in. Skip it.

If you just have a limited amount of time in this town you can skip this church interiors kind of modern even though the exterior looks old. I walk up the belltower is worth it but I wouldn't spend my time here if you're limited on the amount of time you have. Not very interesting.
