Not often you get to describe something as rhomboid. Boardwalks take you around this shell of a castle, excellent.

Nicely paved for visitors, but for wheelchairs only limited accessible. Must have been nice in the past, overlooking the river Duero, but now just some stones.

Luckily the wall and grounds have been restored. Nevertheless there is no much to see in it. They could have added some explanatory panels, with information about its history and role in the town history. It makes for a short walk over the walls, to...More

If you have some time in Zamora during the day, it is well worth walking to Castillo de Zamora. You can walk through the ruins of the castle (we were there in mid Nov, and it was free) and have an amazing view of the...More

Free to enter. Gives great views and interesting to visit and study. Spotlessly clean around the whole area and a pleasure to enjoy the peaceful surrounds.
