The bare minimum equipment required is a compressor to pump up your tyres after the trip. You won’t make it up the first hill on road pressures. You should also have recovery tracks and a snatch strap. Once you have all of this you will have a ball. A beautiful beach, although windy when we were there and plenty of isolation.

This natural wonder had the wow factor - mobile land-locked dunes that you need a 4WD and lots of sand-driving experience to get to. But if you get there, the views are terrific. It can get very windy, so watch out for fine sand sticking to your whole body (note, do not wear lip balm).

We went with Pemberton Discovery Tours, which was an excellent tour company.

These dunes are worth a visit. Like a white sand desert in the in the middle of the forest. If you have a big four wheel drive you can drive there but in a normal car park at the lake and walk the 1.2 km - its not hard walk.

We took the half day tour with the Beach and Forest Adventure and it was spectacular. Driving through a forest of old growth trees with an understorey of wildflowers before coming across the amazing Yeagarup dunes. Then on through heathland before dropping down on to the beach. Eye achingly stunning with the Warren River meandering out into the ocean. Could have stayed all day just listening to the waves rolling in and beach north and south for kilometres. Graeme, our driver really made the trip as he knows about the history, the wildflowers and very patient!

Absolutely need a reliable sound 4 wheel drive with experienced and responsible drivers. Not for the unprepared faint hearted. Some dunes at approximately 50 meters high. Observe direction, stay within the post and behave responsibly is the key. Quite an experience indeed.

I've visited Yeagerup Dunes and Yeagerup Beach 4 or 5 times in as many years and keep coming back because of scenic and remote you are yet so close to Pemberton itself. We always stay at SnottyGobble Campsite when we come down and bring our quad bike which is an absolute must. Tide can come up quickly so make sure you don't get caught.
One minute you're driving through bush and the next you're greeted at the entrance of the dune system with a massive wall of sea sand to the left and right, slowly swallowing the trees. Must see when visiting the area.

Definitely a must do attraction near Pemberton. Either self drive or on a guided tour with Pemberton discovery tours.
The surrounding forest is magnificent and the sand dunes make for a remarkable contrast in scenery.

This huge dune system is swallowing up the forest on its slow march north, pushed by the prevailing winds.

You can see the dunes meet the forest, and if you are in a 4wd continue down to the beach.

In a 2wd you can drive down Ritter Road (gravel road) to a car park by Lake Yeagarup and then walk the 4wd track to the dunes.

We went to the dunes hiking instead 4wd .. We walk towards the sea on the track , during 1.5 hours and we decided to back Yeagarup information center . It was a wonderful walk sometimes difficult to walk on the sand .. But it was like to be in the Sahara .. Bring many water in case on hot weather
