Description:

Stroll over ocean and walk underwater without getting your feet wet!...

Stroll over ocean and walk underwater without getting your feet wet! Extending 1.8 Kilometres over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Only 2.5 Hours drive south of Perth, in the popular seaside resort town of Busselton (three times judged Western Australia's Top Tourist Town), the Busselton Jetty attracts over 400,000 visitors per year. As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Western Australia, it is a must see for any visitor to the Margaret River wine region.Children young and old enjoy the Jetty Train experience. With 50 seats available and trips leaving throughout the day, the Jetty Train is the perfect way to experience the Busselton Jetty. From glimpses of dolphins frolicking to spotting local fishermen snaring their catch of the day, the Jetty Train trip promises to deliver something for everyone. Located 1.7 Kilometres from shore at the end of the Jetty, the Underwater Observatory has been designed to accommodate up to 40 people at one time. Descending 8 metres beneath the waters' surface, visitors can view the amazing corals and fish life through eleven viewing windows, at various levels within a 9.5 Metre diameter observation chamber. Described as Australia's greatest artificial reef, the Busselton Jetty, with more than 300 individual marine species, is host to an awe inspiring "forest" of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates. All money raised goes back into restoring and maintaining the Jetty.

This week we paid a visit to Busselton jetty and paid to go into the observatory which included the train ride there and back. The observatory was just a treasure for a none swimmer like myself and it was just wonderful to see the corals and barnacles as well as the various fish swimming safely around the piers. Hubby spent... More

We booked the whole package before arriving and were to collect our tickets upon arrival. We were advised that we couldn't take strollers on the tram, so we knew that would make things a little tricky at the other end, which it did. Its very open and a toddler could easily fall off the jetty, so it was a bit... More

Have been to Busselton on numerous occasions where we enjoyed the safe beach , eating in the many and varied eateries and of course walks along the jetty . Imagine our horror this year to find a building site in place of the beach . What person decided this year to carry out upgrades during the Summer months .... not... More

We went for a ride out along the Jetty, on the tramway, they have there. It was brilliant. Then we went down into the underwater observitory. The girl who led our tour had an amazing knowledge of the Aquarium, & the underwater marine life.

very good but will be glad when construction is complete, maybe gift shop could have more information books to purchase on the history of the jetty as well as the township, miss the light house there was always a great view from it shame that some of the jetty funding wasnt used to restore lighthouse

Nice place to wander around and see all of the sights. The new waterfront is taking shape and should be great for future visitors

We have visited this jetty at every trip to Busselton...it's a wonderful walk and you always see something interesting....fishermen, dolphins, interesting people, fabulous sunset viewing. Keep ahold of your toddler as it is quite open. Great for a brisk 2 km walk to the end and back.

It was a nice and unique experience, small train can take you at the end of the jetty, 1800 Mt..and there we experienced the sea observatory which goes down in the sea for 60 Mt.. Nice with kids.

Start your journey with a slow train ride on 'Jetty Betty' along the second longest wood piled jetty in the world. All the joy of scuba diving without getting wet! Enjoy the colourful corals and shoals of anchovies. If you are lucky you may spot an octopus or seal. Comprehensive explanation of plants and creatures at different depths. Not to... More

Our second visit to this very interesting attraction, this time with our Daughter and Granddaughter (4) who were making their first. We pre-booked the train and underwater observatory tour to ensure we were on the 10 am trip. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience and our granddaughter was enthralled by the fish and marine life (which included a... More
