It is a relatively large lake in what is a developed are just at the back of Middleton beach and has some good walking trails. On the beach side in November there is signage to watch for turtles that obviously live in the lake and visit the sand dune to lay eggs.

Lake Seppings is an all around great walking trail and very relaxing with lots of wildlife in the area (especially birds). It's also a great place to take some photos, sunsets are also very pretty to watch in this spot. There are various surfaces of dirt, grass and wood bridge types to walk on. Dogs can come if they are... More

This 2.5 km free walk goes around a good-size lake and it is relatively flat. A bird blind half way through allows you to get close to the water and possibly some birds. Some very good birding areas where we saw beautiful finches and the fairy wrens. A bit muddy in one section of the trail, but passable. An enjoyable... More

I visited Lake Seppings as it had been recommended as a good place to see some of the birds special to Western Australia. I was not disappointed. I went early morning when it was quiet apart from a few dog walkers and found several birds I'd not previously seen in a peaceful unspoilt wild setting. There was no litter and... More

The Lake itself is lovely, cool, reedy with native vegetation, trees and has well defined track with bird hides and a boardwalk. The birds are abundant but the wildlife is well hidden. I was hoping to see a long neck tortoise but didn't, however I did see a bandicoot-which was a bonus. Even though bags are supplied to dog owners... More

Fabulous walk around the lake which only takers around 30 minutes and you would never realise you are still in urban Alabny. Peaceful tranquil and heaps of birds life to interest even the disinterested. Well worth the time, whatever time of day or time of year

Looking forward to a quiet stroll around the lake and hopefully spot some birds but one side of the lake is adjacent to a highway and we also encountered a noisy family on a training bike ride. Pleasant for a walk on the far side.

We visited Lake Seppings on World Wetland Day, February 2nd. It was to meet with the local Albany Birdlife group for an early morning birding walk. This offers a wonderful opportunity for passive nature recreation; bird watching and walking the highlights. Lake Seppings has two bird hides and lovely open and treed path and boardwalk. It is a repaired wetland... More

If you enjoy bird life, this is definitely going to be a must-visit place in Albany. There are well marked pathways around the lake, which complete a 3km loop, so it's something easily managed in well under an hour. A gentle stroll around the lake is very therapeutic, and you're almost certain to see some bird life. There is a... More

The lake is an excellent location for bird watching with more than 100 different species having been spotted in the area. Wading birds such as the Australian white ibis, yellow-billed spoonbill and the white-faced heron can be found here. Blue-billed and musk ducks, black swans, hoary-headed grebes, Australian pelicans and Eurasian coots can regularly be seen on the lake’s surface,... More
