It was quite interesting to visit the Princess Royal Fortress. It was a self-guided tour. We visited the guard house, built in 1892. This was a prison for insubordinates. They received a blanket, a bed, a pillow, a chair and a bed pan. In the...More

The Anzac centre is a wonderful place for history - spend the whole day if you can. You can take a break and walk around the extensive site and have a coffee and lunch at the Garrison.

Job well done by all those involved in ensuring that a little bit of the history of the past is recorded for generations to come. We enjoyed walking around and viewing the information and displays, such a treasure really.

We traveled here just before new year and were grateful the weather was cooler than it had been up north of Albany. With Hubby being ex-military he was quite impressed seeing the exhibits and learning about the history of the area and ANZAC Cove. Being...More

Great place to show kids what the old days were like, can climb around the partly dismantled cannons and walk through batteries where ammunition was stored. Kids play ground next to the Fortress, all set in the bush

The very popular ANZAC centre is in the grounds but this is seperate and free. There's loads of gun emplacements, bunkers, displays in the buildings and military items to explore. The history is fascinating and the views over the coastline are great. There's limited free...More
