Reasonable entry price although have a look at the free museum (*multiple buildings) next door first if you have limited time. Kids enjoyed it and was also educational

Pleased we took the time to look through the goal. Was surprised actually how small it was but as pointed out to us it was in early settlement and nuambers were not high.

Really interesting exhits plus incredibly inexpensive for such a worthwhile experience. Various stories of the past show how we have it so easy today. Being able to be in the cells and prison areas gave you a real feeling for their stories.

What it lacks in size it certainly make up for in quality presentations and information boards. You have access to all parts of the goal including both male and female cells, day rooms, staff quarters, kitchen and bake house. Well worth a visit

Wonderfully atmospheric and informative. Slightly OTT with some of the mannequins - it's creepy enough already!!? Profoundly memorable.

Realistic and intact museum, demonstrating jail life in the 19th century. Would have been cold and miserable.

Good place to visit for a quick look and it is cheap to get in. Not a lot of reading mainly just look around at the old cells.

You have to visit at least once when you visit Albany, the museum is chock full of history and the building itself located conveniently on the foreshore near the Brig Amity which I also recommend you see, plenty of parking. If you're a history buff...More

We love looking back in time and how things used to be. Had a great chat with the staff, they knew a lot too. Walking around the museum there were a few surprises. Lots of fun!
