I never went on-board but our friend did and he really enjoyed the boat and its history. You can get some great photos of the boat from the outside and you can see some of the original sea wall.

I was surprised at how small the ship was. Plenty of information about the ship, on one of those handheld recorders. Great for kids.

We visited the Brig Amity on a very rainy day but this did not really spoil our enjoyment of the ship. It was very interesting to learn all about the history of the area and the conditions aboard the ship. The guide was very good...More

Within the confines of The Museum- a full size replica of The Brig Amity that brought the early settlers to Albany- Admission fees to the museum includes the brig- headphones are provided for an excellent commentary

near the museum and old goal, a great location and really good for young kids to play on, you can enter the ship as well.

What a wonderful replica from the original this is a lovely ship and you can imagine what life would have been like coming out from the other side of the world not really knowing if you would make it here. Great to bring the kids

If you are claustrophobic then give this a miss. There is a bit of climbing on small ladders to get into the hold to view the sleeping quarters etc so if you are a senior or a very young one with not good balance, then...More
