This was our first stop as part of our Great Ocean Rd tour from Melbourne. We had about 20 minutes to explore the beach on a rainy morning, but it looked nice. Worth the stop

Given the number of spectacular or interesting beaches along the Great Ocean Road the Torquay Front Beach is fairly average. It is however a pleasant walk and is a big part of the views from the various vantage points.

There is a reasonable amount of parking nearby as well as public amenities.

Nice sandy beach in Torquay. There is a grassy part next to beach where you can sit at tables or have a picnic while watching everyone pass by. Street parking is free and a few cafes across the road. Nice beach.

Close to the town centre unlike Bell's beach which a bit of a drive. Can still see some good surfing (or actually try some).

Four of us had front row seats looking over Torquay beach. We had salt and pepper squid, sticky lamb ribs and lime and mango ceviche, as starters, together with a black Russian tomato, buffalo mozzarella and nectarine salad, which were all delicious. For our mains, we had oven baked trout, Juniper berry-braised lamb shoulder, chicken parmigiana and gnocchi with king prawns. We had a King Valley Pinto Grigiot to accompany our meals. This was a very busy restaurant with a great location on a bustling Torquay beach road. They also had a great Gin bar, which was a novelty, serving local and other gins.

The weather was 24 degrees and quite warm so the beach was very busy. Well patrolled, with lots of tiered lawn seating. There is a walkway right along the beach. The beach is very popular with families and surfers and on this day the view looked amazing. A little bit hard to find a park but we were lucky.

We walked the trail up to Rocky Point to the lookout for fantastic views. The walk is very easy and there are steps accessible down to the beach. Stop and enjoy the views as we did.

Torquay Front Beach is definitely worth a walk along, perhaps a swim with the family or the sharing of some fish and chips on the grass.

It is a popular place for families due to the grassy embankment, various facilities including toilets, BBQ and tables. There are parking bays, including disability, all around it and seems quite a safe area.

The bay surrounding the beach is one of the calmest in the area, which is easier for those learning to swim, small children and the less confident swimmers. Point Danger is found at the right tip of the beach. There is a lookout there and an ANZAC memorial worth checking out. Apart from swimming, it is a popular place to SUP and snorkel around the corner at the Point Danger Marine Sanctuary at low tide. There are specific rules and timeshares for dog walking - be sure to check the signs leading onto the beach and use the doggy bags supplied, to collect any waste.

You will notice well-defined walking tracks along the foreshore that lead to the surf beach/back beach and Rocky Point. These are part of the Surf Coast Walk, which is explained on signs around Torquay and further to Jan Juc and Bells Beach. The Torquay Surf Life Saving Club headquarters are found at the Back Beach, with an area marked with the flags on both beaches.

Torquay Front Beach runs along the Esplanade and town centre and is littered with popular cafes and restaurants [see a few photos of some you may see]. In the middle of summer, you may even find some food trucks, depending on COVID-19 restrictions. There is still the 1.5m spacing needed, but as the beach is vast, that is no problem. The beach itself has a few entry points, some with paths, stairs and sand entry. It is easily accessible for all, including those with mobility issues.

Great for a morning & evening walk along the beach and also along the esplanade. There's plenty of good restaurants along the esplanade.

A lovely beach which is alongside a popular strip of green and within walking distance to the Torquay shops. It can be difficult to get a carpark, especially as there are open air restaurants across from the beach. This is the place for families, especially with young children.

In the Netley Hotel fabulous place clean friendly and local to everywhere in Torquay. 5 minutes walk to the seafront and buses to anywhere else around. Views are super and nice walks on the flat or hills for better views if wanted.
