We stopped to use the amenities, but this centre was actually open. When I say 'open' ... I mean there were no restrictions... well other than sanitisers and spit guards for the staff.
I finally found a book to read in here ... they have a really good range of books. The staff member inside was really lovely.
It was well worth stopping in here to have a look around and get some advice on what to look at next. :)

Port Fairy is a lovely town and well worth a visit as you travel along the Great Ocean Road. Stopped there for a couple of nights as the information centre was so helpful. Provided loads of information on places to stop along the route and always with a smile. Can’t thank them enough .

Port fairy is a beautiful town to visit. So pretty along the river or it’s gorgeous beaches. Plenty of old historical cottages and homes around the streets add to its beauty. The small shopping strip has plenty to offer with nearly every type of cuisine available and specialty stores to pick up supplies. There is no shortage of places to eat with 4 big pubs in town and a few fine dining restaurants cafes and bakeries Lots of accommodation from tourist parks to five star homes to rent right on the water with sea or harbour views. Whale spotting in season is all around this area over late winter and spring. Port Fairy is a wonderful place the locals are so friendly, we love it.

I was given lots of maps and information on the town walks. The surrounding areas were also discussed including the Budj Bim Mt Eccles National Park. A must see.

A great first stop in Port Fairy. Staff cheerful and helpful giving good advice about what to see and do in town, including restaurant tips! Maps and other information available. Good gift shop with reasonable prices and nice stuff. Recommend a stop here.

We called in here on our arrival in Port Fairy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us leaflets about their own area and giving us details of what to see on our future route.

We found everything we wanted I here, including local maps and suggestions of what to do from the helpful lady behind the counter. She told us that seeing the nightly return of the Shearwaters to Griffith Island was a must, and she wasn't wrong!

They offer 4 bikes for hire on a half day or full day bases. Full day is $25 each. Two bikes have gears, two do not. The bikes can be reserved via e-mail to the visitor center - though if you do not get a confirmation, then follow up with a phone call as my e-mail went straight to their junk folder. Also, check the air level of the tyres before you leave.
