One of the most visited places on earth thanks to the twelve apostles and other great ocean road attractions. Must see when in Australia.

Viewing the Apostles was spectacular especially at different times. It is very interesting and fun explaining to overseas visitors why there isn't 12 now.

If you are visiting Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road is a must. The scenery is simply superb. The Twelve Apostles is a iconic area.

We drove down from Melbourne, stayed in Port Campbell and saw the Apostles near dawn. Perfect time as the sun is behind you and the apostles are nicely naturally lit. Also virtually no tourists as the buses with noisy tourists havent yet arrived.

Well worth a visit. Impressive to just look and see the sand monuments and the ocean, and the sediment. Nature at it’s best.

Port Campbell National Park - 12 Apostles section: if you’re already there on the Great Ocean Road then it seems obligatory to stop and see, however it’s the same views seen in many photos as it’s only observable from a designated walkway, and understandably so...More

It was indeed a clever marketing ploy to change the name from Sow and piglets to the 12 Apostles. Interestingly, there were only nine stacks. In 2005, ‘Judas’ fell leaving only 8. What was more interesting to me was how the harsh weather conditions and...More

The great ocean road is a stretch of some of the world's most beautiful scenery and should not be missed. The rugged cliffs, grottos and arches are stunning. This is complemented by the beautiful bush on the other side of the road. There are also...More

I did see a few buses along the route, but felt like they were big tour buses. As for accommodation, we rented a house for 3 days. There are some smaller hotels around. Not sure on nightly minimums

A hire car if travelling from the airport, or maybe a bus tour. If driving, remember that the roads can be difficult and tiring. Accidents are common.
