We only went here on a whim after seeing sign on GOR for turnoff. Weren’t expected much but this waterfall more than holds it own against more famous waterfalls.
The viewing platform is amazing (no rails) and even has a lovely little creek that flows at a rapid rate.
WALK: short 100 m walk up hill from car park and than another 5 mins along boardwalk and dirt tracks. You than walk on a path thru tall grass. You than walk up around 50 steps before finally a small downhill part at end. My two kids under 5 easily did this walk.

We went during summer, hence there were barely an waterfall..
So not sure does it have waterfall in other season..
The path to the falls is so ill maintained,, it's scary.. if maintained well, could be good place..
On the way great ocean view is nice..
Parking lot available..

Water falls are a nice surprise at the end of this short but hot walk. It's sheltered with several areas to sit and enjoy them.
Don't forget to take water as there are lots of steps in the hot sun. Also, the March flies are crazy and bite. Make sure you put insect repellent and sunscreen on before you go.
Worth the detour on your great Ocean road drive.

I'm sure many people hop out of their cars on the Great Ocean Road and wander up to Erskine Falls, take a photo, and head back to the car. All the while missing out on what lies beyond.
Only a few hundred metres on there is a breathtaking cave that has its own waterfall also.

Sheoak Falls are located only a few Kilometres out of Lorne heading southwest towards Wye River.
Look for the sign posted turnoff on the right hand side.
It is only a 10 minute quick walk from the carpark.
The falls are nothing spectacular, but always worth a view and a walk to stretch your legs.
If you continue to follow the trail past the falls another 200 metres or so, you will find Swallow Cave, although we did not do this part of the walk.

Situated about 5 km beyond Lorne these Falls provide a spectacular side trip while travelling down the great Ocean Road. The walk alongside the river is just over a km through the bush. The Falls can also be reached from the Sheoak picnic ground with a longer but pleasant hike. We were dropped off at the picnic ground and collected back on the GOR. The Falls are at their best after some heavy rain.

A short drive past Lorne & you find this double set of falls, the main falls is amazing when in full flight, best to go just after some rains with a smaller falls up a bit further, a lot of steps to walk up & down but definitely worth it if you have the time. It took us over an hour & it felt like we didn't even scratch the surface of the sights available.

Can you swim in any of the waterfalls?
Written 10 April 2019
Most of the waterfalls have small shallow basins at its base, but it also depends on the weather of the previous days as some of the waterfalls are very small in volume of water.
The base of the Sheoak Falls is not regarded as accessible.
