Have been to red rock a number of times and it is filled with skids from other cars. Also needs to have more signs describing the area and what not

We were staying at Cape Otway and decided that Colac looked worth investigating and found the Red Rock Lookout which gave spectacular views over the surrounding volcanic plains. If you have even a faint interest in geology, this is well worth the trip.

It's as simple as that, not too far away with beautiful views of Colac, the Lake and surrounding districts. Winery, breweries and a town with all you need not far away.

Living under a volcano in Queensland, you tend to develop an interest in volcanos elsewhere. Hadn't believed though until this trip how many volcanos are in the western Victoria region. A beautiful area and some wonderful views around Red Rock. Close enough to the Great...More

This place is easily accessed from the highway or Colac and on a clear day the views are spectacular. Read the information boards and try to imagine the volcanic activity that occurred here. My friend lives just down the road and on a few occasions...More

Two great scenic views from the lookout easy access, does have stairs but you don’t need to climb them to get an awesome panoramic view. Definitely worth the drive to get there

There are so much better things to see in this area. Just spend more time on the great ocean road is my opinion. We got out at red rock and were just attacked by a swarm of flies. Not nice! Dont bother unless you have...More

Well worth the trip out from Colac to view the incredible array of volcanic craters, now home to grazing cattle. Great views across the countryside towards Mount Elephant etc. Then head north to see where all of the volcanic rock was deposited and then turned...More

Located only 10-15min from Colac, this is worth the slight detour. Climb up the steps for great 360deg views, showing the remains of volcanic activity which is a rare sight in Australia.

The stairs to the lookout platform would be about 70. This gives a bit higher view than the car park, but you can see almost as much from the car park at the top plus driving to the second hill top car park you can get a... More
