This is pleasant enough but compared to some other efforts around Victoria such as Melbourne's Cranbourne annex, it is uninspiring.
My opinion hasn't changed in the decade since I last visited.
There are some good photo opportunities for pre-nuptials but that's about it.
Lovely gardens to wander around in and spent an hour or two. Beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. Great children's playground area! It had been raining before our visit, so the freshness made for stunning photos! Definitely worth visiting!
Such a pleasant stopover place for us. The gardens are beautiful - predominantly lawn and huge trees and masses of roses. And the bonus is CLEAN public toilets and there is toilet paper IN the toilet paper holders.
Beautifully maintained gardens and park. We were lucky enough to visit for the festival and enjoyed the market stalls spread throughout the gardens. What a beautiful setting. The art gallery is also beautiful and all set right by the water.

The rose gardens are the highlight of Benalla's Botanic Gardens, with good signage for rose buffs. Also recommended is the Weary Dunlop memorial statue. What an inspirational medico Benalla can count among its past residents!
A fine example of country botanic gardens. The rose gardens are extensive and renowned. Many of the trees are magnificent specimens. The lake adjoining the gardens adds to the atmosphere. There is an excellent children's playground.
The title says it all. The gardens were truly lovely and a great spot for families or a picnic or whatever. But if you need to use a toilet I'd suggest going elsewhere. The soulless uninviting dirty unisex boxes are to be avoided. A woman...More
