Well worth a wander through their intetesting collection of memorabilia both inside and out although I had difficulties with the steep narrow staircase to reach the upper floor which was worth the effort. The history in silk panels were exquisite although my partner did not stay to listen to the audio which explained the process of materials and stitching and... More

This museum is a must see if you are anywhere near Deloraine. The collection of artefacts and the old buildings in the complex are terrific. And the gardens are beautiful to walk around.

The Deloraine and Districts Folk Museum is a collection of buildings, some that were from other sites, that have been dismantled and re-assembled here to preserve the local history. The focus is the horse drawn era of the 1800s. The site was originally the Family and Commercial Inn during that time, today it reflects the life of a country publican... More

The museum had a lot of interesting vintage items and we were able to wonder around the rooms and yard at our own place looking at large and small items.

We really enjoyed this and although we had been to the visitors centre before we didn't know it was here. WELL worth the small $8 entry fee to both the museum and silk display & show which plays every half hour. A must do when travelling through.

This museum was very interesting with well set out and maintained displays. It depicted a realistic view of life of the early settlers. The outside displays were very good.

We found this by accident as its in the same building as Yarns Artwork in Silk and it was definitely worth having a look around at the historical displays.

Have been here a couple of times and will come again with other friends. One visit there was a volunteer working on the exhibits and he was so helpful. I love the old implements especially old tools. This is a great addition to the Information centre which I think is one of the best in tasmania
