- jamesgusvi28 contributionsTrinity Beach - Great Place to RelaxWe stayed in Trinity Beach for one month. It is a great place to relax, has a small casino (slots only), a few restaurants, a nice beach, and a few shops. We came during the month of January to February - very hot and humid, lots of rain showers, but we enjoyed all of it. The downside was that no one goes into the water - and for good reason. There are warning signs everywhere advising you not to go into the water due to poisonous jellyfish. I would recommend watching a few YouTube videos on this subject before you come here. Such a beautiful beach but no one on the beach or in the water. This may be a seasonal issue, but I cannot comment on that Trinity Beach is close to a few other populated beach locations, such as Palm Cove to the north. You can walk or drive. Palm Cove has more restaurants and shops, has a nicer layout, but we preferred Trinity Beach.Visited January 2020Written 28 January 2020
- Chris D8 contributionsRelaxing Trinity BeachTrinity Beach is not too far out of Cairns, but is another world. Very quiet and picturesque tropical beach which is great to walk first thing or later in the day. Also highly recommend Wild Yeast FNQ bakery for your caffeine hit and really delicious bread. If you want a relaxing break, this is the place.Visited March 2020Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 March 2020

Thai Tapas food is delicious. They make all their own sauces with the peanut dipping sauce the best I’ve ever tasted. Menu has a good selection and we are working our way through it.

Just the right size for a winter escape from the south. It's gt style and sass. The main drag is buzzing wit cafes and restaurants and pubs.

Trinity beach is a beautiful scenic spot with lovely clean sand and a stunning outlook. The water is fairly warm, even in July.
The vibe is like a smaller version of Palm Cove.
Main downside is the dog off leash area which contradicts the tranquil nature of the beach.

Beautiful beach except for the dogs, cant go to any beach in Cairns without dogs off leashes. People seem to think everyone likes dogs.

Pristine little beach suburb 20 kms north of Cairns. Never appears too crowded and has a few restaurants and bars to sit and watch the ocean views. A well lit walkway with free BBQs allows you to enjoy pleasant evening walks.

Great location. Our apartment was old & tired and had doors and knobs falling off every time we opened one. When we contacted management about it we received no response. Wifi is non existent. They shouldn't advertise that they have it as part of the features of booking because it simply doesn't work.

Absolutely beautiful.
However beach has been closed due Salt Water Croc sighting.
Personally we need to either move it along or just let me swim.
Needs kids play area upgrade.

Trinity beach is small and tranquil. Perfect for kids. Palm cove is a bit livelier with more eating options

Hi, my family and I are going to be in the Trinity beach area the first week of September. What bus services are available on a daily basis to get to local attractions like Kuranda Koala Gardens? Is there a website to view timetables? Thanks!

We didn't use the local bus services, however I think there some that are hourly and stop at the Sky Rail. It only takes about 10 mins drive.

I'm assuming you mean Abbott St Cairns city! Uber will get you to Trinity beach for UberX: A$32-43, Assist: A$32-43, UberXL: A$52-69 in about 20 minutes depending on traffic. Cabs are roughly the same price and public transport is available. Trinity Beach has a large swimming area enclosed with stinger netting.
If you have a hirer car just use your google maps to navigate there.

Hi I am heading up here on my own next week for a break I am a bit scared to go to the beach we’re there stingers nets and did they work. Also were there crocodiles at the beach? Thanks Anne

Thanks for your question. Swimming in the nets is usually very safe. We also have excellent Surf Life Savers on Duty at many northern beaches. As I have lived in the area for over three years, we always take precautions when swimming anywhere along the beaches. Trinity Beach, among others, can have croc sightings. However, if you check out the nets, and the water is clear, you can see when it is perfectly safe. We never swim at nights - EVER - and we don't swim outside the nets. I am always surprised that tourists let their toddlers paddle near the edge. That's not safe. However. I don't want to dissuade you from the excellent opportunity to swim at our beach. Also, if you are concerned, and you are travelling around, Babinda Boudlers is a MUST for a day out of safe swimming, a barbeque and some nice walks. Again, only swim when it is safe to do so, not after a big rain. The water at Babinda is so nice, you won't ever want to leave. Also, at Trinity Beach, if you walk along to the headland, you can stay a while, sit on the bench and watch the big green turtles pop up out of the water. They live there.

Is this beach safe for swimming during Nov and Dec ? I saw some posts saying there are crocodiles...
Meharibear
Bristol, UK201 contributions
As the others said, no problem if you follow the warnings and obey the signs. I understand that normally the crocs would only be found in the creek way down the beach form the supervised area anyway.
