It's very clean and clear the water, fast flowing and cool. The water has a bit of an earthy taste to it. Saw some locals fishing there, they didn't catch anything but they did say it was a good spot.

We loved watching the rushing river and tranquility of the area. We had lunch at the cafe opposite which was very popular. The green juice was delicious and refreshing.

Our visit to Tumut was a big suprise due to the sheer beauty of the river and surrounding walking paths and play area. It is a tranquil place to walk, sit and relax with some yummy local treats or a picnic.

Fantastic walk along the river through the park of old English trees. Try it in autumn...just a beautiful place in a great town.

It took us about 3.5 hours with no stops in kayaks. The river was quite high. Some previous experience required.

Daryl, I am not a paddler but the historic Junction Bridge is about 5 kilometres from Tumut. When we were there late last year (twice) the river was flowing quite fast but I think much depends on outflow from the Blowering... More
