I was a little taken back at the damage the ladt cyclone unleashed, everything was gone, no pontoons, no shops, no wharf, all gone.
It was still nice to visit, maybe one day it will be returned to its former glory.
A beautiful place but still undergoing works from cyclone Debbie in 2017.
Parking is a bit of a hassle at the moment with all the tradesmen cars at the moment so we struggled with that for the boat we caught from there.

We saw boats that are moored in small clumps here and there.
Last year a cyclone destroyed the marina and there are no plans for now to repair it.
Still there are boats that are moored here, but not as many as last year.
It was sad to see Shute Harbour so run down and damaged after Cyclone Debbie. The lookout was still great. Hopefully it can be restored.
We take a drive down and visit each time we’re in Airlie. It’s a great area.

We drove our rental car around the mountain to Shute Harbour and the views and water were stunning. Most was closed off from cyclone damage and little action was happening here but still worth a drive and a look. I hope it will one day...More
