It was cold when I went here but the trees gave shelter from the cold wind. Plenty of ducks and some swans on the lake. The bird hide is great for watching the birds. There are board walks on the lower ground so you don’t...More

I visited in the middle of mozzie season so be warned it was a full on war between human and mozzies! I had to carry my repellant with me and was constantly spraying myself! Don't let that put you off though because the boardwalks, bush...More

We stopped off here for a picnic lunch and ended up staying longer than we planned. The gates are locked at 3pm on weekdays so we wish we’d arrived earlier. There are plenty of picnic tables and, on the day we were there the place...More

If you like birdwatching, this is the place for you. Gorgeous wetland surrounded with native forest. A short drive from Taree. Very accessible to all fitness levels. What a find!

Spent a fantastic couple of hours walking each of the tracks. The boardwalk is very well done. Perfect day out seeing beautiful flora and fauna. Taree council and those who reinstated this area should be congratulated. Magnificent job and a real asset to the area....More

If you are a birder, this is an ideal spot to visit, particularly to see wetland birds, but also for parrots, honeyeaters and insectivores. Raptors are also commonly seen in the area.

Well worth a visit and there is a good shelter for a picnic lunch. Great photo opportunity and well worth taking the time to walk around the wetlands. After rain, be prepared with mosquito repellent.
