If you like nature and hiking, this is the spot. Nice trail and no crowds, you can take your time and enjoy the surroundings. And forget your cell phone, since it will not work there - which is cool, actually.

At the end, you can dive in the freezing water.

Guartela State Park was created in 1992 in order to preserv the Iapo canyon, the sixth largest canyon in the world! This park is located in the city of Tibagi, Parana State, south of Brazil. The rock formations called "arenitos" stand out amid the vegetation like a scenery. It's hard to belive in such beauty! There are two tracks that you coul take: the basic one and the guided track. The basic track is the shortest and you will be able to see the "paneloes do Sumidouro" (large pots) and the stone bridge watefall. The guided track has 8 quilometers and you will need a guide to make it. We hired one at Guaterla ecoturismo company in the city of Tibagi, near the park. In this trail you can see the hawk stone and indigenous paintings which has more than 4.000 years! And at the end of your journey you will be very pleased in bathing at the large pots. It's one of a kind experience! It's a wonderful place for nature lovers, but do not forget the sunblock, insect repellent and bottles of water!

Easy access to leave the car. Free attraction.
The walk is easy on the way there, as it is only downhill. It's only on the way back that you get tired because it's uphill. The only thing missing along the way is a structure with food sales, or bathrooms.
The landscape is beautiful, well cared for, there are guides stationed at each section, which makes safety better.
I recommend this tour to anyone with at least average physical conditions, without knee problems, as it is not accessible.

A spectacular experience, a divine energy, combining nature with the people who work there. The basic trail tour is free, which includes views of the viewpoint, (Canyon) access to the famous panels, and access to the waterfall, the main waterfall is closed, it's worth going alone, with friends, or family. I highly recommend
The walk is 5km round trip. Bring water and bathing clothes, in case you want to go into the pots or the waterfall. Who discuss the tour. the park is 18 km from the city (1.5 km of which is land). @liberdad_sobre_rodas (then I will be posting videos on YouTube with more details)

Second time we visited this canyon, very beautiful, well-maintained structure to get there, a good walk in the sun and steep. A great waterfall bath. The only thing I didn't like was a lady on a property inside the park, who sold water and popsicles and would only let you photograph a tree if you bought something. I think that the access point, where the entrance is, bathrooms, reception room should be renovated, it is in very bad condition.
