This is a new attraction that caters for the tourists - if you visit a Dutch town in Brazil wouldn't you expect to see a windmill? Children will probably love it. It is a great photo opportunity, you may enter the windmill, climb the stairs (and see the view if you are lucky enough to find it open), and then climb down backwards - a task that seems to be impossible for some people, so be aware that it may take a while if someone is fighting with the steps.
But then... well, it looks like a windmill but is actually just a look-alike. A waste of time as far as I am concerned.

Visited during the weekdays, when it is not opened for internal visits. Anyways the plaza and the construction are beautiful and there are free parking places in front of it. They city could add other minors attractions and things to be seem on this location to make a better use of the room they have in this plaza.

One of the tourist attractions of the city of Holambra, built after Dutch tradition, is a windmill that grinds grain; only Brazilian inputs were used in its construction. It receives visitors from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, but the characteristics of the mill itself is not suitable for young children, elderly or people who have difficulty with mobility, because the stairs are small and must be made with your back.

Fake wind mill in fake Holland. I do not understand why Brazilians take me here all the time. Was here more than 10 times, more or less kidnapped by Brazilians. I suppose they wanted to be kind to me. But this, the windmill and the town is a poor copy of kind of Disneyland. Not a single reason to visit,

It was Sunday, first week of December and extremely hot weather. Not the best time for a visit in Holambra unfortunately.

Holambra is well know as flower polo production in Brazil. The place provides flowers and plants to most cities in Brazil and even if not some countries in South America. It is indeed a small town with Dutch immigrants. You feel an European air. Make sure to visit the windmill and if you like it, go inside and climb the stairs to the top. Children will love it. Find out on the city website when its happening the annual plants and flowers exposition. The city in this period is crowded. Also you can visit the flowers farm and learn more about it. Was a lovely weekend trip on my birthday!

Learn a lot about engineering and history. The staff is very welcoming and instructive (at least on weekends). The mill is real and modern. It deserves the visit.

Quite high mill with actual flour production. A Dutch guide is available to explain the specifications of the mill, which gives credibility to the attaction. Entrance is paid (BRL10/person for a full ticket), but is worthy.
