- Alison DWarrnambool, Australia40 contributionsA bit disappointingWe did the star pass with canapes $110 each, and didn't think it was value for money. 4 different canapes, but lots of wine or beer, so that was good. We were underwhelmed by the lights, we didn't see them from the platform when it was dark, so whether you would have understood it better, I don't know.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 October 2023
- Amanda F67 contributionsLights as far as the eye can seeLovely trip to this amazing light installation. We paid $49 for the basic trip: pick up at hotel and 1 hour walk around the installation. It’s was atmospheric and worth the money. A lovely introduction by an indigenous lady and lots of space and low lighting on the track meant you could really enjoy the spectacle of light. There was a bit of light pollution, probably coming from the people who paid to have a dining experience, along with the noise of cheering and clapping which spoilt the serenity of the place. Our coaches kept their engines running a bit too long too, which spoilt the silence. But this is easily remedied for future tours - wonderful experience nonethelessVisited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 October 2023
- Renate6 contributionsWonderful experience for the whole family. Our family of 4, 12y and 19yr, did this on our first night of arriving at Uluru and it was fantastic. A beautiful way to see the sunset with Uluru in the background, be provided with a drink and nibblies and take in the breathtaking beauty of the area. The lights were magical and being able to walk among the lights was absolutely stunning. We loved. It, the kids loved it. A memorable experience and fun for the whole family. I would recommend your best photographer to take the photos and the rest of the family sit back and enjoy the lights. Truly a lovely experience to your holiday in this area.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 21 October 2023
- Lorraine B268 contributionsAn experience. We made a reservation for the Fields of Light dinner experience, which began with a picturesque sunset over Uluru while we enjoyed canapés and drinks. After this lovely start, we proceeded to have our dinner. However, the dinner itself did not quite meet our expectations. To elaborate, the dinner commenced with a soup and a bread roll, followed by a buffet. Regrettably, the slow-cooked kangaroo meat was somewhat tough, and we had hoped for a more flavorful and exquisite dining experience. If you're considering booking the Fields of Light and dinner separately, it might be a better approach.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 October 2023
- Iain JSorrento, Italy55 contributionsField of Light, UluruWhat a fantastic evening - to be honest didn’t know what to expect but what we say was tremendous in every way and what a backdrop to have Uluru. The night sky was clear with the constellations as well as clear visibility of Jupiter and Venus. For good measure we were also treated with a Shooting Star - great night and excellent company, well worth going to see. A truly great evening!Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 31 October 2023
- Phil DWymondham, United Kingdom34 contributionsTerrific sightThis was only a short evening trip where you wander through the field of light display but it is a beautiful display. Very colourful. It covers a huge area. Well worth a visit. The only slight downside was how long it took to get us all back on the bus but still worth 5 stars.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 December 2023
- Yvonne KCheshire, United Kingdom191 contributionsFields of light tour SPECTACULARA wonderful evening visiting Field of Lights From hotel transport to the short journey to the viewing site, all do well organised. On arrival we were led to the viewpoint and met our wonderful hosts. Savve our Guide Host had a great humour and personality and was helpful, informative with facts and figures about the light installation by Bruce Monroe and how many lights are in this creation on the 49 Hectares , how and who were Involved in facilitating this spectacle. We were served bubbly or beer or wine / soft drinks or water along with a lovely tasty Canapé selection . Danielle and William along with Savve certainly enhanced the enjoyment of the evening, they were attentive to all. Danielle from Dundee in Scotland and William were an asset to the evening. Savve assisted with making the experience so memorable and taking photos for everyone. The field of light was truly SPECTACULAR , A visit not to miss. Thank you !Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 December 2023
- Micheal F20 contributionsBeautiful, majestic, creative but choose the right package to make it worth it for you. What a beautiful, timeless, wonderful piece of art in the middle of the desert. Truly majestic and what an idea to create this. There are many ways to see this, and we did so just by laying the cheaper option. It was approx $46pp to get in, and that included a free shuttle pick up from the hotel. I'm glad we did this. The bus takes you to literally the middle of no where, and they allow you 45 mins to walk the loop. Bring a good camera! It's very hard to take photos of this place. You'll need a camera with long exposure settings. The only downfall was that there isn't really any imagery or stories to go with the lights. If you quote the guy behind us it was just 'lights sticking out of the ground'. Getting a photo of the lights can be hard too cos they change colours and turn off too.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 January 2024
- birdwinsNew York City, New York143 contributionsVery cool installation - fun evening overallWe did the tour with dinner. Cocktails to watch the sunset followed by buffet dinner, followed by a talk about the stars, followed by a walk through the installation. Field of light itself is very cool. Lights on stalks that seem like underwater plants that move slightly in the breeze and change color in undulating waves. The long path is worth it to get the full experience. Overall a lovely evening.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 February 2024
- John G9 contributionsThe Field of Light at UluruHighly recommend this adventure. The evening started with appetizers & sparkling wine. Dinner included a variety of Australian favorites - "Roo" stew & barramundi for those of us eager to try new dining options. Music was provided during dinner - the native didgeridoo performed by a talented musician. After dinner was a star gazing experience with a knowledgeable astronomer. The night sky is different down under. You can learn from the presentation or simply enjoy the star show. There's a chance to walk thru the Field of Lights after dark. It's spectacular. This excursion is really worth the money and your evening. Five stars.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 February 2024

Recently went to the Field of Light and splashed out on the StarPass for partner and kids at a cost of about $300, on the basis of past (pre Covid) reviews.
Field of Light is beautiful but I would recommend you purchase the standard entry and skip the canapés and drinks package, at least until Covid is a thing of the past.
The canapés are a cold boxed selection of four items: a smoked salmon and green pea mini tartlet which was very nice. The other items were a blue cream puff, a smoked kangaroo mini brioche and a few cubes of roasted sweet potato and ricotta on sour dough. Definitely not worth the money ($50 extra/adult and $40 extra /u16) for a couple of glasses of wine/beer/ soft drink whilst watching the sun go down.
Take the cheapest option....they all have 45 minute maximum within the installation.

I originally planned to do the Night at Field of Light experience which included the Sounds of Silence Dinner and the Field of Light. It started out lovely with us being brought to a dune top before sunset to look down on the Field of Light with Uluru in the background while having drinks and canapés. However, we were then escorted to the dining area before we could see the sun set and the lights come on. After dinner, we were taken back down to the field, but it was already well past dark. The views were still amazing, but we missed a really beautiful part of the night, and the pictures were terrible. You would at least need a professional camera to be able to capture something half as good as it is in person.
Because I enjoyed the field of light so much and I wanted to see the field while the sky was partially lit, I decided to try to get into the Field of Light Sunrise or Field of Light Star Pass. The Sunrise one was full, but I was able to get into the Star Pass one. Once again, we were brought to the dune top to enjoy drinks and canapés, but we got to watch the sky darken and the lights come to life. Once the field was fully lit, but the sky still had some semblance of light left, we were welcomed to walk through the field. The lights were beautiful, and with the fading light of the sun and the light of a full moon, I was able to get some better pictures.
I imagine the Sunrise tour would be even better because you would have the sun rising behind Uluru.
The Field of Light Departures One, Two and Three all leave after dark so again, you are missing out on the partially lit sky.
I would probably suggest doing the Sunrise tour if you can or alternatively the Star Pass. The Sounds of Silence Dinner was amazing, but I would recommend doing it as a separate tour.

One of the more disappointing experiences at Uluru mainly due to the price. It is overpriced for what is effectively an Uluru sunset (offered on so many tours), a few canapes and a bit of a light show. Yes it's pretty but the light installation for those that live in cities will most likely be quite underwhelming. The yearly Christmas lightshows in Brisbane are far more impressive than this and a portion of the entry fee.
You'll by no means have a bad time and it's certainly a pleasant way to spend an evening but it was definitely a tour that we felt was poor value compared to others on offer. When discussing our holiday this was the one we all felt we could have easily skipped without missing out.
Where Fields of Light may have an audience is those with smaller children. It's probably also well suited for older people with limited mobility however be aware that it is very dark with uneven ground heading down into the Star Pass area. If you are unsure on your feet you'll possibly need someone to walk with you and guide you down. For families with older kids I'd recommend skipping this and heading for camel riding. If your budget stretches this could also be replaced by the (excellent) Sounds of Silence dinner experience. Both of these experiences offer a lovely view of the Uluru sunset as part of their packages and offer far better value.

We chose the Field of Light Star Pass and enjoyed drinks and canapés as the sun went down. Beautiful view of Uluru in the changing light. The Field of Light came to life as it went dark - it was a magical display of light, highly recommend.

Booked the Field of Lights dinner package that entails canapés (the flies were difficult) and drinks overlooking Uluru at sunset, a sit-down dinner (after the flies settled down) w/ drinks, a star gazing session and then a walk thru the field of lights. The filed is an extensive installation of over 50,000 solar powered lights. Very enjoyable.

We booked the Star Pass rather than the plain Field of Light excursion because with the Star pass you get the sunset view of the Field of Light with Uluru in the background. Either way, it can be quite cold after dark at Yulara so wrap up well. The day we did this there was a gale blowing and the temperature was about 11˚C. Frankly, mulled wine would have been better than the cold beer and sparkling wine we were offered. The canapés were OK but not exciting and came pre-selected in a cardboard box because of Covid.
The Field of Light itself was a magnificent sight and well worth the trip

We were sad to find out our evening was cancelled due to weather and all other times were full, so could not switch to a different evening. I was however disappointed that there was no notification via email about the cancellation and no automatic refund issued (I had to get an email address from the info centre in Yulara to contact for the refund). If we had not stopped in to get that info, I’m not sure we would have gotten a refund).
I have since emailed and refund is coming. I wonder if they are hoping tourists forget or have limited access to wifi and don’t take the steps for a refund.

We all really looked forward to our Field of Lights experience and it didn't disappoint. Walking through the lights really made you appreciate the effort that has gone into the installation - it is very spectacular to look at and we highly recommend it. I hope it stays at Uluru for a while for many to enjoy.

Bus picks and drops you off. Driver gave small talk about how lights became part of area. Staff greeted with wine. Top up available always as staff walking around with bottles. Canapés given out in small boxes for each person and if dietary needs they would also cater for. You stood from a hill top chatting as sun set and lights started in field below. Once dark we had approx 40 min to take in and walk the tracks throughout the lights. Toilets at end of track if needed. We paid $98 per person for canapé.

This was the perfect way to end our trip to Uluru. The canapés were absolutely beautiful and bottomless wine, prosecco or beer and soft drinks too. After watching the sunset over Uluru with a beverage we made our way down to walk through the Field of Light which was simply spectacular. We were given a bottle of water for the walk too.
Definitely worth upgrading to the star pass!

Ciao Davide, hai acquistato il pacchetto "STROLL AMONG THE STARS" con aperitivo tramite l'hotel? ma si parte prima del tramonto? perchè nella descrizione sul sito sembra che parti dall'hotel appena dopo il tramonto...

Do I need a park pass to attend the Field of Lights, Sounds of Silence dinner, or the Tali Wiru dinner? I am trying to work out how many days I need a pass for, we are staying for 7 days but I think we only need a 3 day pass for the days we have tours to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

We did not need the pass for the Field of Lights. The bus picked us up from our accommodation and took us out and dropped us back to point of collection. e just needed the three day pass for days we drove into Uluṟu and Kata Tjuta. We didn’t do the dinners so not sure of those Sorry

Do you have to book a tour or can you drive yourself to the installation? We have a car so don’t need the bus etc.

Can't self drive. Must book with a group. Maybe look to do camel ride in if you can :-)

Is it possible to do the sounds of silence dinner then the field of lights on one night (one trip?)
Are they close to each other ?
Are there frequent coaches back to the resorts or is it 1 coach per "group" or similar ?
Written 9 March 2021
These are two different experiences in two different areas so you need to book separately. They were doing a dinner at the field of lights prior to Covid but I believe that tour was cancelled. We thoroughly enjoyed both our Sound of silence tour and our Field of lights Star pass tour and would highly recommend both.

Are there toilets at the attraction. And if a person doesn't wish to walk to the sunrise platform area can they stay at the lights and wait
Written 4 October 2019
Yes there are. The bus drops you off at the viewing platform(Short walk up) overlooking the exhibition and Uluru you then walk down to the Field of lights exhibition and once finished walk along the path to where the buses pick you up from and the toilets are right there.

Hi All, if I were not staying at the Uluṟu-Kata resort and wanted to do the field of lights tour.
Where does the bus pick up from??
Would I just drive to the resort and park in car park and wait for the bus there??
Thanks
