I did the rim walk in mid September but even then the forecast was for temperatures in the high 30s. Be smart and start the walk early (say 7am) - make sure you have adequate water. It takes 2.5-3 hours at a relaxed pace so...More

Well marked hiking trail enjoyable for the whole family... The initial climb was steep at times but well worth the effort. The variation in views and elevation occupied our children throughout the 6.5 km.
We completed the longer Rim Walk - definitely needs some fitness but if you take your time up the first section it is well worth the exertion! An absolute marvel. The park is well signed with good facilities and water only at base of walk....More
