Tjoritja/West MacDonnell NP is a wonderful National Park , that in places is dry & inhospitable and around the corner it's lush & cool with water ponds & abundant tree cover. The many gorges are all different in their own way and most are easily...More

One of the west side MacDonnell National Park water holes is the Ellery Creek . This requires a 2 x 1.2 = 2.4 km return walk with a very nice water hole suitable for swimming

This park has it all. Soaring peaks like Mt Sonder, gorgeous gorges like Ellery Creek Big Hole and Redbank, and the Larapinta Track. Take time to view these various features. Enjoy the birdlife, red rock, fauna and flora.

We drove out from Alice Springs and spent two nights at Glen Helen Gorge 'Resort'. Incredibly basic accommodation but really lovely people and plentiful food and drinks. And the location? Exceptional. Glen Helen Gorge was stunning - so too Ormiston Gorge, Big Ellery Hole, Standley...More

Ormiston Gorge is set in the Macdonnel mountains about 132KM or 1 ½ hours from Alice. The Gorge rock pool is really a large pond surrounded by coarse sand with the red rough mountain towering above, very beautiful and good for photos. We went mid-February...More
