We welcome visitors to our rustic Cellar Door. Our winery is a true family owned, boutique operation where wines are made, bottled and labelled on site. Come in for a wine tasting of our organic, Gimblett Gravels wines. Visitors are welcome to bring picnics. Stonecroft produced the first Syrah in New Zealand and visitors can view the original row of vines planted in 1984. Next door to the cellar door is the historic Old Winery, which was the first winery to built in the Gimblett Gravels. Our cellar door is open from Labour weekend (at the end of October ) until Easter, Friday to Sunday 11am to 4pm.

Unfortunately we arrived and were met by a very austere lady. I have amazing memories of their Chardonnay but the wine was not as I remember! The Syrah was musty and the Chardonnay very mineral with none of the normal stone fruit favours. The Viognier did however have these characters. Sometimes service makes all the difference to the experience. A... More

Beginning of new tasting season. This organic vineyard offers many award winning wines that are superb. It's a little off the track BUT in saying that.... it is on the cycleway in the Gimblett Gravel circle. So get a bunch of your friends together, snap on your helmets and take little ride off State Highway 50 to Mere Rd. You... More

This was a nice experience. Small vineyard, with great tasting wines. Nice range for their tastings. We ended up taking two bottles, a reserve Syrah and the normal one. 2013 was an amazing year for all wine makers, and there product was cellar worthy.

We like to visit small wineries as well as the big names, and we were not disappointed with Stonecroft! A great range for tasting despite having small acreage, and we really enjoyed the wines that they produced. Knowledge presentation and a nice place to picnic, including a toy box for our littlie. We would return!

Stonecroft had a reputation for its syrah, and we hoped to stop by and taste it, but alas, it was sold out! but the new owners are working hard to keep the reputation strong, and had a few other interesting wines to taste, such as the Old Vine Gewurtz, and Zinfandel. We really enjoyed both, and although the Zin was... More
