Nice Winery

This is a very small, unassuming cellar door but Ichiyo was very friendly and gave a nice tasting. If you're already in the area it's a good side stop.

Although a little scary going up once there it is worth it. The 360•views are beautiful definitely recommend a visit.

I've been a big fan of Coleraine for 20 years and was thrilled when my partner organised a tour of the winery. So much history for a New Zealand winery, going back to 1896. I've been giving Coleraine to recognise significant birthdays since the 1998 vintage, with the stipulation I'm there to drink it when it is eventually opened. A... More

A 'must do' for all visitors to Hawke's Bay. If travelling by road the last few hundred metres is very narrow and winding, but there are many alternative access trails for walkers and mountain bikers. A huge variety of tracks allows easy to moderate walks, some from the very bottom while others start from a parking area about halfway up.... More

Made the mistake of doing this this after heavy rain and a running event held the day before , so the tracks were in pretty bad nick. However, we made our way up to the top. Wear boots. Not one for thongs. Great views all round. Road up pretty narrow in sections and one car only. Walk far more relaxing.

Yes, this is a must-do on any trip to the Hawke's Bay. Views are spectacular. The road up to peak, assuming you are driving up, are narrow in places so take care.

Fantastic place to visit. Great views of Hawkes Bay. The bush walks are a must. Easy to moderate walking tracks with excellent views and birdlife. Also mountain bike tracks available for the hardy.

This is a must do! Amazing views and scenery enjoyed by all. Easy to get to. Looked like there were a variety of walks to do. Will look into that for our next visit.

We were driven up here by our tour guide, which was a good thing as it was quite a narrow, windy road. Beautiful views from atop the Peak, and you can see Craggy Range Winery down below. We didn't see any hang gliders that day, but I can't believe they actually jump from there! And the mountain bike trails look... More
