Lovely small park built around a horseshoe lake with lots of shaded seating to have lunch on, catch up with friends etc. A few small sculptures and a cafe in the corner. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.

Really enjoyed the Queens Gardens. Beautiful set up, amazing rose garden near the pond and shady corners avaiable when it gets too hot.

These are smallish gardens but we spent a couple of hours exploring its nooks and crannies. Open 24 hours a day except for the Chinese section. We went back a few times during our time in Nelson. A lot is packed in all served up with well placed and interesting info boards. I particularly enjoyed the peaceful Chinese section but the water features, huge and small trees, wild areas, well-managed areas and the birds mean that there is something here for everyone to enjoy.

Worth the walk to explore this lovely classic garden. Have to return to explore the cafe that borders it in the art gallery.

Love these gardens, they have improved over the years. I love that they are quite compact but really stunning. We particularly loved the Chinese gardens.

Enjoyed walking around these gardens, easy walk and flat pathways. Great spot for a picnic and to feed the ducks

If you are visiting or live in Nelson, I would recommend a stroll through these gardens either before or after enjoying lunch at the Suter Cafe and visiting the Gallery. A quiet and peaceful haven within a city is always welcome.

Sadly to say it doesn't require too much attention to be a council worker as it's the pretentious idiots above them that dictate as what will be.ponds could do with a bit of a clean up and bins emptied more frequently.

The gardens were near our hotel so we spent some time wandering through the gardens which were quiet and peaceful. You do have watch your step as the ducks inevitably leave their calling cards on the paths! Attractive plants and interesting statues. We combined this walk with a visit to the Suter Gallery.
