The cathedral/church is worth a visit. It's not particularly extraordinary, but we enjoyed our visit and were lucky enough to visit it when an instrumental trio was practising for an evening performance. Lovely.

We were staying near the church and wandered through quite by chance, on our way to downtown. What a beautiful place...so quiet and serene. So nice to find a church that is actually open to the public.

This Cathedral is unique . The back of it looks to me to be more modern but the front of the building more traditional . It's massive inside and quite beautiful .

After the neo-Gothic cathedral was severely damaged in the 2011 earthquake, the people were divided on whether to rebuild the old cathedral or build a new one. They are still debating it, but in 2013 decided to build a Transitional Cathedral using cardboard, local wood, and steel. It has a polished concrete floor and a polycarbonate roof, but has cardboard... More

Enjoyed the helpful interpretation signage inside. Enjoyed reading the history publication and also the latest newsletter. It would be a great church to be part of.

As we entered the compact cathedral, the choir began their rehearsal. Very nice timing for us and so good that they keep the doors open for all of us to enjoy. We sat and listened and then quietly looked around admiring the modern stained glass windows and noticing a plaque commemorating the heroism of the people of Britain during the... More

You are struck by the beauty of the stained glass up against the relative austerity of the grey internal stonework. The building and the surrounding grounds are immaculate. Inside there are interesting memorial plaques to past New Zealanders. Very interesting.

Had a walk round ad in this beautiful church. Always love visiting churches when away and if interested in these, it is definitely worth a visit.

High on it's hill the Christ Church Cathedral stands over the city of Nelson. Take a short trip up to visit the bright and airy interior with a modern labyrinth and impressive organ.

You can see the tower to this cathedral from miles away. Easy to find on Castle Hill the cathedral is very impressive with large archways throughout. Its worth climbing the stairs for.
