Decided to do a couple of hours walk with a friend who volunteers his time to the walk. It was amazing, we saw the seals at play, the sea mist, kangaroos, cattle, and all for free. Once at the top the view was well worth it. I'm no where a really fit person but am so glad I did part... More

We stopped at Yellow Rock, and then did a short hike to The Enchanted Forest. The highlight was seeing an echidna on the track, as well as some of the fabulous coastal views along the way.

A group of 5 of us walked an 85 km section of the GSWW. Using friends to move our car we started at Wrights Swamp Road near Cobboboonee camp and finished at Simpsons Landing where our car had been relocated. Campsites are well equipped with pit toilets, rainwater tanks and fire pits. Along the way we saw emus, kangaroos, wallabies,... More

This is a well-signed, beautiful 250 km loop walk from Portland, which takes in Cape Bridgewater & Cape Nelson. We did small parts of the walk & loved the beautiful views & stunning scenery.

Members of our bushwalking club walked the inland section of the Great South West Walk from Nelson to Portland. We found the whole track well maintained and sign-posted, but using a good quality map is recommended. We started the walk after heavy rain and strong winds, so there were many water hazards and fallen trees along the way. However, the... More

Walks along the Glenelg River provide something different around every bend, Cape Bridgewater to Cape Nelson and into Portland magnificent views of cliffs and ocean. Walks can be long or 1/2 day, easy to access, good picnic/bbq facilities. You need 2 cars to alleviate retracing steps, but there is always somewhere to finish with a bbq and talk of what... More

Walked both ways from Cape Nelson and also at Cape Bridgewater Lakes. Great views and good for birdwatching. Saw wallabies and a fox. Portland stretch has good walking surface after lighthouse towards Bridgewater you really need boots due to rough rocky surface.

I have walked small sections of the walk and enjoyed them very much, my favourite being the walk from Bridgewater Bay to the Blowholes, passing the Seal Lookout along the way. This section takes around 21/2 to 3 hours for a slow walker and photographers, but I am sure fast walkers can do it in far less time. The outstanding... More

We have done many lets of the walk but also the complete walk over 14 days. It covers bush, river, beach, forest and cliffs. The scenery is amazing and it isn't too challenging a walk.
