Fraser, The world heritage Island has a lot to offer for 4WD Adventure holiday makers. 136km long beach is the road for 4WD 🚘 there is no roads in the Islands so you only drive either in Sand tracks or on the beach 🏖. It is a perfect place for campers 🏕 to camp on the best beach side. If you’re camping on the beach side, you have to carry your own toilet/bathroom, water gallons and lamps along with all other camping gears. You have to be careful with Dingos as this Island is a home of Dingos. Dingoes sometimes come to beach in the morning. If you choose to stay in-room, there are plenty of accommodations available and varieties of accommodation type like cabins, resorts rooms, camping in caravan parks with all the facilities including hot and cold water. Cathedral park site is a Dingo Fenced site and offers Glamping facilities so is best for them who wants to experience camping in the Island with peace of mind from Dingos and specially for families with Kids. There are few places for dinning and drinks so no need to worry. Only thing you worry about is the Tide time so drive when the Tide is low. Driving over 100km long beach with the biggest wave is amazing 😉. In the holiday season 1000s of people visiting the island 🌴 therefore tracks and beaches are pretty formed for driving. Champagne Pool is an amazing place for swimming in the waves. Lake McKenzie has the best water and atmosphere to chill. One thing to remember is there is no Network so phone and wifi doesn’t work so you will be free from social media. Just let your family know that you will have no communication for sometime and enjoy your holiday and make the most out of your Adventurous holiday.
Cheers

We booked the Fraser Explorer Premium Tour and had a most enjoyable day seeing this beautiful Island. Our tour guide Emily was a fountain of information regarding the Island and it's history.

Our day took us into the forest to spend time at Central Station which was stunning,Lake McKenzie and much more, then over to the surf side for lunch at Eurong Resort on to Eli Creek/Coloured Sands and the Maheno ship wreck.

We had a brilliant stay recently at Cedar Lodge (Eurong, Fraser Island). Looked to be freshly renovated - it had a very homely feel with lots of nice touches! Our family loved spending time on the open decks and cooking in the backyard pizza oven, which was a huge hit for both adults and kids! The outdoor shower was great for getting sand off after days exploring the beach. Lots of space indoors too, if you get stuck with bad weather, it’s a great spot to play board games, or cosy up with a good book. Kids loved all the board games! Well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Close to all amenities but in a quiet loop of houses. Hosts were very responsive, friendly and easy to communicate with. We can’t wait to stay again and highly recommend to all our friends and family!

Our 1st trip to the Island with 2x 15ft hybrids. Stayed 3 nights in Zone 2, found a great camping area, day tripped to Lake Mackenzie, checked out Eurong, pies from the bakery were yummo. Heaps of pippies along the beach, however they were few and far between further up the beach in zones 5 and up. We attempted to catch beachworms, hubby got one!! Our next stop was in Zone 5 for 9 nights once again found the perfect spot for the 2 vans. We were between the Maheno wreck and the Pinnacles. Day trip over to the western side, 21kms took just over an hour, this was midweek so very little traffic. Checked out Central Station and Lake Allman. Wasn't fussed on Orchid beach at all, the drive up there was scenic. Champagne rock pools were impressive. Cathedral beach shop/fuel was our go to for a coffee, had lunch there twice, burgers were $17 to $20 and well worth it. Thier prices for groceries were reasonable and had a wide selection. Eli Creek was just what everyone says it is, just beautiful clear fresh cold running water. The closest dump point for us a Dundubara, and there was mobile phone service there and fresh water. Had a few close encounters with the dingoes during our stay, you need to be vigilant at all times. All 4 of us carried a "stick" when out on the beach are moving around our camp site. We had timed all our travel onto and off island around the tide times, need a low tide to get around the Poyungan and Yidney rocks with the vans, there are tracks up and over both rocks, however we decided to go around the rocks. Same with getting back to the barge the last 1 1km of beach down to Hook point is only passable at low tide. Will we go back again, yes. Lastly we didn't get bogged at Inskip Point!!

You think you've seen Fraser on many of your self drive 4WD trips to the island......that is until you get to experience Butch. Now Butch is a tour guide par excellence, he drives a very large 4WD bus for Kingfisher Bay resort and his knowledge of the island, his respect for the indigenous caretakers of the island is mind blowing. It isn't imparted to you in the form of a barrage of information by rote but in a manner that enthuses us to learn. This is a trip worth taking. Do not miss the experience.....and Butch you have earned our respect as has the indigenous forefathers of this truly remarkable world heritage site.

OH EM Geeeee K’gari (Fraser) Is you stole my heart. This was THE best day I have had in a long time. We went on a day tour, and we were collected from Rainbow beach. Lots of room on the bus as the tours are not full at the moment because of covid 19 impacting tourism. It didn’t dampen our day at all. Quick 5minute ferry and we where on the big Sandy island. 4WDing heaven, beach heaven, fresh water lake heaven, ship wreck heaven, swimming heaven, coloured sands heaven... get the theme!!! We even saw a dingo. It was such a great day... I will definitely be back

We are feeling sad that we are on our last evening staying at the gorgeous & relaxing Kingfisher Resort. We will have been here for 5
nights. This amount of time gave us a real taste of this paradise it truly is We feel so
privileged especially as both the resort & the island oozes with environmental eco sustainability & it is also deserving to be listed with World Heritage, which is not easy to come by. We loved our hotel room with the deck & spa & it was also the perfect location for us which made us feel private yet still gave us close access to the main areas. The environment, staff & our adventures was what made our visit so very special. It was also an added bonus to see a whale & a dingo. Our 2 must do’s that we highly recommend are; The Beauty Spots Tour & taking in the sunset at Sunset Bar. The Beauty Spots Tour via a 4WD coach was the best tour we have done. Why? It is a must to really appreciate the island. The tour for us was captivating, awe-inspiring, fun & with right amount of information. Thanks Hayden:) Did I mention it includes a decadent buffet lunch at another resort?! Take your wallet as there is even an affordable scenic flight off the beach. Our next highly recommendation is a visit to Sunset Bar for a stunning sunset. A cocktail & platter definitely enhances the experience. With the latter, be early! (By the way, cocktails must be tried at all the bars as they are all so deliciously different!) We also enjoyed the bush tucker tour, our hikes to Lake McKenzie & Z force commando school, a hit of tennis & archery! If you are a keen hiker, make sure your room has a spa!
Our best advice is to keep a close eye on ‘What’s On’ so you can get involved & being a part of the paradise experience which Fraser Island offers. For those that like to relax, there is still time to relax at the pool & read, drink cocktails & enjoy some fine dining.
Cheers with our pre-dinner port. We are off now to celebrate our fine stay with some fine dining at the Maheno Restaurant.
Book your trip now! You won’t be disappointed with your visit & we know your stay will be as special as ours❣️
Cheers to Fraser Island & to all who help make it paradise+!
THANKYOU THANKYOU

This was my second time to Fraser and it was just as gorgeous this time. we went on a two night stay with dingoes. we got upgraded to glamping which was luxurious as the last time I had been we were sleeping on the ground. Lake Mackenzie and the lazy river will always be my fave however the dip in the green lake after walking through the bush in that heat will be something I will never forget.

It was one of the highlights of my trip up the east coast. I was apprehensive because I have a bad back. It however was alright and the tour operator did his best to go slowly over the uneven terrain. The ferry ride was nice and once we arrived on the island we travelled along the " beach highway" which was magnificent. We then drove inland to Mackenzie Lake. It is fresh water and crystal clear. We had a wonderful swim and then a good picnic lunch. Our guide then took us through the forest and explained the local vegitation and wild life. It was a special day.
