We were lucky enough to have a beautiful, sunny, still morning. We saw sperm whales and an enormous pod of approx 700 dolphin. The staff were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn’t fault it.

We loved this flight to watch the whales. The people from Wings over Whales are very nice and gave very clear explanations, and we were lucky to see one whale very well. One of the highlights of our trip in New Zealand.

Boat gives you a closer encounter, but plane lets you see more area and greater chance of seeing whales and dolphins. I would base my decision on the time of season I was visiting.
