The basin is usually awash with flowers and you can access beautiful walkways along the Hatea River. The loop walkway starts in the basin. A not to be missed ten minute stroll to theTe Matau ā Pohe unique bridge.

Town Basin continues to be a pleasant place to meet for meal or a little selective shopping. The new bridge down river has led to a new circular path that can after an energetic walk, lead back to the cafes1
