It is wonderful to see lots of families and people in the Esplanade. The rhododendrons are still in bloom and the gardens overall are well tended by a dedicated team of gardeners. You can enjoy shade or sun, have coffee or lunch in the transplanted post office. The rose garden is a place of great beauty right now m It... More

Magnificent family park combining children's playground, rose gardens, hockey and cricket pitches, bird aviary, paddling pools. You name it, they've got it. Impressive pavilion cum cafe centrally sited serving a wide range of food and drinks. Even has a train ride around the grounds for adults and children alike. Well worth the visit.

Spent a few hours wandering around. Very colourful. All plants in full bloom. Not a lot to see in Palmerstone North but this is worth a visit.

Had lunch at the café then went to the rose garden and took some photos and then on to the awesome playground. My granddaughter got me into the hamster wheel which was so funny, needless... More

We came here to ride on the train around the gardens. It was just as good as last time we were here. The playground was missing the flying fox and one of the pieces of equipment had a chain on it. So this playground was more suited to younger children for whom there were still plenty of things to play... More

It was a busy week in Palmy for me but this little oasis on the edge of town washed all my stress away. Trees, walks, ducks, sports fields, river and fresh air. A great resource and well worth spending time tehre.

Very nice setting, but service is quite slow and food average. Also tried to arrange a potential event but did not hear from the person i met with to start plans.
