About
The Mchenry Hohnen cellar door is located in the heart of Witchcliffe opening from 10.30am to 4.30pm daily.. Since its inception, McHenry Hohnen has had an unwavering focus on crafting site expressive wines. As our vines age and the soils continue to evolve, we see the individuality and beauty of the land continually developing in our wines. We see our role as stewards of the land and have implemented organic farming practices for many years to create the optimal conditions for soil health and the quality of the grapes harvested. Our winemaking team craft wines that pay homage to the site of origin and use low impact techniques combined with an acute attention to detail to achieve the goal of the finest site specific wines Whilst the story of McHenry Hohnen is steeped in the history of the region, we look to the future with anticipation as our soil, vines and wines continue to evolve.

There was a tour bus at the cellar door when we arrived and the person conducting the tasting was rushed off his feet. At no point was anyone left to feel abandoned, he handled the situation with great aplomb. It didnt matter which range I tried, the quality was superb. It is a great cellar door that we have visited many times. We look forward to our next visit.

Our first visit to this winery and we have joined the family!
Exceptional wines... great vision of biodynamic wines...born from a rich history in the Margaret River region!
A must try to any visit if you are serious about your wines.

We visited this vineyard as one of three on a wine tour of Margaret River via Harvest Tours. I can’t remember the lady’s name that looked after us but she was the daughter of Steve, our driver for the day and both are very knowledgeable and interesting. We tried 12 different wines and also were given a small plate/taster of cheese, meat and a biscuit. Very enjoyable.

The was the first winery we stopped at on our full day wine tour, and the one we enjoyed the most. Great wine philosophy, and clean, fresh tasting wines. Their pastrami and lamb chorizo were amazing too.

My wife and I were provided with a professional tasting service resulting in us purchasing both their 2018 sauvignon blanc and 2015 cabernet sauvignon.

Small, tour-bus friendly winery, with Caves Road access and reasonable parking. Outstanding wines produced by an iconic team. Organically / bio-dynamically grown grapes, sourced from three local vineyards with varying soils and micro-climates.
There's outdoor tables and seating, ideal for a cycling rest-stop or picnic. You may need to exercise a little patience, if a tour bus just precedes you. Best value red, in my opinion? The 2015 Rocky Road Shiraz ('an absolute humdinger'!). Mind you, McHenry Hohnen's Zinfandel is also an amazing drop... .

One of the best wineries that I've visited in the region. Uses organic methods that creates a very delicious, clean tasting wine. Also tasted some delicious cured meats. Ended up purchasing some lovely whites and salamis, and took home their wine list for some extra purchases later!

We were most fortunate to find this organic producer, one would not have bothered to turn in only for recommendation by Mcleods Tours,no pressure to purchase, taste as many as you desire
,assistance from Ute was valued. The wines are complemented by the meats, which are processed from the on farm pigs, the various meats can be purchased.
Excellent,,go viist and be supprised.

This is a small winery with both excellent red and white wines. We were able to taste a large variety of wines without being pressured to buy. However, we did buy some of their wines to take home!
Our 'host' was very knowledgeable about the wines and also the charcuterie goods (brand name The Farm House) that they also have on sale. We were able to taste these meats with our wine and they also were very good.

I have to say this is a small winery, it's not big and fancy like some in the area But the wines are superb, the blonde lady that looked after us new what she was talking about, the entry level wines, are truely great, whites and reds, and at around $25 a bottle represents great value. Which we bought a dozen bottles, and the small goods for sale are sensational and we bought these as well I highly recommend this winery as a must stop on your drive around the Margaret River Region
