Mammoth is an impressive, gothic-like cave that could easily be described as the perfect home for a caveman. Tours are self-guided with an audio headset and begin via an elevated boardwalk through towering Karri forest. As you journey through the spectacular formations lookout for the carefully lit animal bones and fossils and listen to the stories about extinct animals. Wildflowers are abundant around the precinct from September to November. Located 22km south of Margaret River.

Great. Value for money.

An awesome cave with great audio soundtrack. Some fantastic features and also well worth doing the extra 700 meter walk through the forest.

Really enjoyed our self guided tour of Mammoth Cave. The audio MP3 was excellent with just enough information to keep us all interested (kids included) without too much stopping and and starting. Highly recommended. The four cave pass also works out to be good value too and isn't limited by time so if you live in the region you can... More

Visited these caves independently during a d few days I'm Margaret River region. Fabulous experience of an awesome natural phenomenon. A well presented experience without the " tackiness " of other cave experiences. The overground walk was also very good. Good value for money. Possibly not suited to those with mobility issues.

Easy, self guided tour of underground cave. Well lit, safe and easy to navigate. Lots of steps to get out and small bush walk to reach car park.

Great experience, our kids loved Mammoth Cave. Wish we had time to see more caves in the area. Very accessible although some stairs are involved. Audio tour offered a informative touch so children can listen at their own pace. Highlight was spotting the crocodile head, upside down ice cream cone and elephants trunk!!

Brilliant cave. Self-guided, and we all found the commentary to be useful. Just a warning that there are a lot of steps to climb to exit the cave. Then many more to walk down to reach the carpark. May be a challenge for some.

Quite an adventure for the kids, lots of steps which was a bit challenging! Caves are a must when visiting Margaret River, and this was a good one.

Lots of steps at the end of the cave. Even when you go back to the beginning there are lots of steps. All in all the cave was magnificent we all loved the self guide tour we could take our time and replay if need be. Very well lit cave. Just beautiful there was a drop in temperature when first... We decided to head here rather than wait 40 minutes for a guided tour at the Lake Cave. Well... it's a cave. If you have seen largish caves before, this one is so-so, not super spectacular. If this is your first cave, you may like it. I was disappointed that you can't actually see any megafauna remains inside the cave.... More
