We were from California touring the Western Australia coast and wanted to get in some kite surfing. Though I have kited a number of times, different sites require different launching and landing techniques. Took a short lesson with KiteWest to get acquainted with Coronation beach and they also taught my wife how to properly assist in launching and landing a kite.
They have a good selection of rental gear which I used since I only had an 11m kite and the conditions called for an 8m and 9m! Staff was always friendly and encouraging! I will be back. Thanks for a great time Ben and Gabby.

I had a fantastic 3 days with friends learning how to kite surf! The experience was incredible from start to finish. The instructors were super friendly and made sure we all felt comfortable, no matter our skill level. We learned the basics quickly and even got to ride the waves by the end of the course. It was such a fun way to spend time with friends while trying something new and exciting. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an adventure!

Kite west is a valid school where you can have amazing class of water sports but especially SUP-SUP YOGA classes/retreats and workshops! The two owners are amazing... So good in teaching and available for any request! Really recommended!!! Love it!

We have done several awsome Kitesurfing lessons with KiteWest. Being two very beginners, with Ben we had a super-experienced and careful instructor. With just a few lessons we (almost) made our waterstart. Apart from that, Point Moore is an excellent spot to Kitesurf - and it's not as croweded as in Perth! Unfortunately we had to continue our journey south - but for sure Ben set a solid basis for the two of us to become real pros ;) !

PS: Not only for his kitesurf-knowledge but also for his hospitality and homemade Pizza we can highly recommend Ben and his team!

This is the first negative review I have written. Under normal circumstances, when things don’t go as planned, I chalk it up to experience and move on. However, dealing with Ben Tomasino of KiteWest has been anything but normal.
In short, I originally booked the tour with KiteWest for Jan 2018 and paid a 50% deposit in Nov 2017. Due to an unexpected medical issue, three weeks after booking, I was unable to travel and asked KiteWest for a refund. Ben said deposits were not refundable but agreed to honour the deposit for the same trip in Jan 2019. This was all confirmed in writing with Ben.
Fast forward to late 2018, after our airfares had been booked, Ben now says they are unable to deliver the tour on the agreed upon dates and then refused to refund the deposit under the premise that I cancelled the tour. A formal complaint to Western Australia Consumer Affairs resulted in a partial refund but Consumer Affairs said I would need to take KiteWest to small claims court for the rest. Not easy when you live on the other side of the world.
My advice is, stay away from KiteWest.

Our Terms & Conditions: (https://kitewest.com.au/terms-conditions/) Due to an extensive organization involved with tours and retreats, a strict cancellation fee will be applicable to compensate for costs and lost revenue. Once a booking is made, the 50% deposit is not refundable. The offer that Ben made to you to reschedule to another date was already goodwill from our side. We had to reschedule the tour in January 2019 what still not give the right of a refund of the initial deposit.

I had a great experience with my first SUP yoga class, even as a beginner! The class had a mix of skill level and the teacher was great giving her attention to everyone. I highly recommend it, fun and great workout!

Chantal and Ben ran a fantastic SUP Yoga class in Sanur, Bali. The class was tailored to all levels with lots of modifications. Chantal, the instructor, is very friendly and it was great to have Ben taking some photos to remember the experience. I will definitely try again 😊 thanks

My boyfriend and I are travelling around Australia and starting off here in Geraldton staying with some family whilst we get on our feet and came across KiteWest whilst looking for things to do.

I tried their SUP yoga lessons which are sooo relaxing and such a good work out! I was aching the next day, but in a good way ;)

Chantal and Ben are so helpful and really good teachers for all ages and levels of yoga. I fell in a few times, but I was rest-assured that most people do that on their first go at SUP yoga.

My boyfriend and I tried out some SUP as well which is way harder than it looks but really fun!

At such good prices, it's a great thing to do on a Sunday morning for fun :)

Highly recommend!

I'm a 47yr old woman who decided to get some kitesurfing lessons while in Geraldton, WA. I have sailed and windsurfed previously but was always a little concerned by media reports on how dangerous the sport was. I did some research online and decided to give KiteWest a call as they seemed well qualified and had a comprehensive training program of structured lessons. I called Ben and made arrangements to meet him down at Point Moore, one of the most well known windy beaches in WA. Ben and his team are just great. They are all friendly guys keen to get you up and kitesurfing at your own pace. Most importantly, Ben is very passionate about safety. As you progress through the lessons you will find Ben continuously reminding you of the most important aspect of kitesurfing - safety, safety, safety! It's really important that you understand that to learn kitesurfing safely will take some time. It's highly unlikely that as a beginner, you will actually get in the water with a board and be up and running in 1 hour....or 3 hours... It took me about 9 hours of lessons (granted I am not a natural at all!) but one of the other students took about 6 hours to get on the board. The key point here, as Ben will tell you, is that if you can't control the kite safely first (on land and in the water) you won't be able to control the board either. Listen to Ben! The more time you spend practicing with the kite and trying to body drag the better and safer you will be! Anyway, I can not recommend KiteWest enough. If you want to give kitesurfing a go - and learnt the basics properly - give Ben a call, you won't regret it.
