This was a great find - with a range of really exciting exhibitions in a welcoming gallery space. There's free entry and easy access for all, an excellent gift shop, and just one of those under-rated regional treasures that people should take the time to...More

A great place to visit a paid edition. The gallery provides a very relaxed but organised place for visitors. Take some time to visit the gift shop. You can purchase gifts and homewares that a person would actually need

Went for the recent Archibald travelling exhibition. There is an excellent display also of landscapes of Geelong and nearby districts from Victorian times.

Recently during a visit to Geelong we visited the exhibit of portraits from the Archibald competition. It’s a lovely relaxed gallery in Johnstone Park.

This was my first visit to the Gallery and I would strongly recommend visitors to Geelong to put this on their 'must see' list. My visit was later in the day so I enjoyed viewing the entrants in The Archibald Prize in a peaceful space.

This is one of the better galleries around, the space is full of light due to good use of natural light (see photo). The permanent display includes some Australian classics and the Archibald exhibition brings with it some new and classical impressions. It was not...More

Visited the Geelong Art Gallery to see the Archibald which regardless of where it's exhibited always seems to create it's own conversation. Found the layout within the gallery very good. Did view works of McCubbin, but regrettably did not see much more of the gallery...More

Went after the school holidays. Gallery was pleasantly empty so I could wander and view the paintings without other people around me. Mostly great paintings as ever. Parking was easy. Second year they have been in Geelong.
