Impressive family location with many pro's, except in time of drought. Perfect in late April 2017

It is a credit to Bendigo council. A board walk goes around part of the Lake, and where it is not, there are good concrete walking paths. Lawns are well maintained. Ok to take dogs on leads when walking, which is very popular. Apart from the well appointed LARGE Boardwalk café, there is a hot dog van and coffee/tea/drinks van... More

Stopped here for a picnic lunch and happened upon the best spot for bird watching. Just near the Boardwalk cafe carpark. There is an island in the lake which is home for lots of ibis and other waterbirds. There are tables and bench seats for eating at and public toilets approximately 100 metres away. There is a paved walking track... More

There is a coffee van and hot dog van parked there. Great spot for visitors to Bendigo to stretch the legs and have a break. Perfect outdoor space for families with young kids to run around, enclosed playground was very good. Nice walking track around the lake

Lovely setting for a walk around the park to stretch the legs, before heading back to the Boardwalk cafe which is set on the lake, for a coffee.

Very peaceful place. Lovely to walk the dog, have a picnic or just a cuppa overlooking the tranquil lake. Lunch at the Boardwalk cafe is also a delightful experience.

This is a great area for everyone. A large enclosed children's play area, beautiful green lawns and a great paved wa.king track around the lake. The hot dog man has great hotdogs of many varieties and great coffee in the van next to the hotdog van.

Nice spot to relax, picnic or walk with the kids. A really good playground for the kids. There's a walking bike riding track that links to the creek trail and links the lake with the Bendigo CBD. There is a coffee van, BBQ facilities or, for a more relaxed meal there is a nearby café. There are also Motels just... More

Hadn't been to lake Weeroona since I was a little girl. It was a lovely sunny afternoon so there were a few people about. Great for families, couples or just friends catching up. We parked then strolled around the lake. We stopped at the cafe at the top of the lake for a coffee & scones. Perfect. We sat outside... More

Excellent walking/riding track. Perfect place to meet friends for a walk and chat. Flat surfaces, ducks, bird life, tortoises to spot. Excellent for dog-walkers (walk dogs on-leads). Toilets recently upgraded. Playground is large and fenced for safety. Plenty of park benches to rest slung the way if needed.m I've seen weddings held there and many people enjoy the coffee, hotdog... More

I find the lake concept of Lake Weeroona at Bendigo is similar to that of Ballarat and Albert Park Lake of Melbourne. All three set at the edge of town, and is good size of about 5 km, providing opportunity for a good 30 min jog, one hour normal pace walk, picnic or just chill out. Having a lake also... More
