Description:

Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar...

Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge.

Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard.

It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston!

Had the most lovely day cruising the river Tamar with the gang. Gorgeous river scenery, including white sea eagles and a myriad of birdlife. Snacks, lunch and local wine tasting to complete the day. Can heartily recommend this.

The clear warm weather made the hour cruise around the confluence of the Esk and Tamar rivers and up the cataract gorge vey pleasing. The clean boat and entertaining commentary made the trip well worth the time and money, and a highlight of my Launceston visit. We were extra lucky in that a bagpiper was playing on the gorge walkpath.

We have just spent a great day on a luncheon cruise on Easter Monday with our friends visiting Tassie. We could not expect anything more than this experience. Amazing day, filled with interesting stories shared by very knowledgeable staff, lovely views, nice fellow travellers and lots of fun we had together. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Wonderful way to spend 4 hours touring the Tamar and seeing life from the water. Staff were knowledgable, commentary excellent, views spectacular and the food and beverages wonderful. Fabulous way to kick back and relax!

The 50 minute cruise is fine and the commentary is interesting. The highlight is definitely Cataract Gorge. A pleasant enough way to spend a short time on the river and at a reasonable price but don't expect it to be amazing.

Can't speak highly enough of this company. We had a booking last Sat for 23 but due to a death we had to cancel on the Wednesday 2 people. they didn't hesitate to refund their money. On the morning of cruise one of our group was unwell.Understandably it was to late for a refund but in lieu they gave the... More

A beautiful sunny morning (for a change!) and an enjoyable cruise along the Tamar. Apart from the brief view of the Gorge (minimal water flows in Autumn due to the upriver dam), the Tamar lacks any spectacular scenery, but the crew did well pointing out the wildlife and what items there were that were of historical interest. Morning tea and... More
